This will most likely cause a stretchy lanky plant….

Train that thing so it’s short and wide…. Try to keep it less than waist high…..you can do nets, topping , tying etc outside, just the same as inside. Smell will become a problem eventually….. you’re real worried… put taller garden plants around the weed to conceal a bit. If it’s legal though, just tell the neighbors to….

Do they need direct light? Or would it be enough that they get shaded light?

Direct is better, but shaded/diffused sunlight will work….the sun is insanely strong as compared to indoor lighting…. Make sure you’ve got it decently dark at night though.

I’m really digging this square foot gardening technique for my little veggie garden boxes…. I just planted more lettuce, and more radishes…. It’s a good way to get a decent perpetual harvest from small spaces….
