I would say it offers happy endings during welding sessions, but that wouldn't make much sense, especially at my age. Welding projects would be quite long to accomplish! :funny: :funny: :funny:
Gotta have at least a day's rest!:funny::funny::funny:
Ah yes, you must be talking about the new Miller “love you long time” model…

Question for yall. Has anyone here bought the take and bake artisan soil kit from BuildASoil? Im thinking about biting the bullet and getting it for my next and future grows as its a living no till soil recipe. Just wondering if anyone has used it or their light blend as its the same recipe.

I've had great success with the coots kit in the past from BaS. Just mixed it 1/3 peat, perlite, worm castings.

The only reason I wanna go with the take and bake kit is that Im going to order a custom grassroots bed for my tent as their 3x3 is exactly 36x36 and ac infinities tents are 35.5x35.5 so its already too big. But if I have a custom made 35x35x12 one made it would hold the whole kit and I can get everything in one shipment. The only thing is I may need to build something to put it on as it will just be sitting on floor of the tent with no air gap underneath, but Im not sure if that matters with living soil as I won't be watering to runoff at all. I guess the guys at build a soil say about 5-10% water by volume of soil 70 gallons of soil that would be roughly 3-5 gallons of water.

Do you have a specific reason for wanting to do their 'take and bake'? It's really kind of their version of a ClackamasCoots Style media.

I love the performance of their 3.0! You could easily incorporate ClackamasCoots style ingredients on your own to the 3.0. I still institute some ClackamasCoots style amending, but it's only top dressing.

ClackamasCoots style is more of a hormonal orientated style grow. It relies heavily on hormones produced from Malting/ Sprouting seeds. In addition, it is also beneficial for fungal growth. Another strong part of his style is moderate phosphorus levels. There's not any really high phosphorus containing amendments. In the same thought process this that I have on multi sources of nutrients, the ingredients in the amendment kit have a few sources of phosphorus at normal levels. High phosphorus levels can be detrimental to mycorrhizai.

I'm quite sure it will perform very well!

There are no really true Ruth Stout no till style Grows, unless you want to talk about LONG intervals between grows.
If you're gonna do long term grows in beds or very large pots, 20 gallon minimum, then you're gonna have to incorporate your ClackamasCoots Style Nutrient Kit into the first few inches of your media when you re-amend. The same day I would add my EWC and compost, combined or in layers, and then plant your cover crop. I cover with alfalfa hay I get from the pet store. LOL! It's 'stemmy' enough not to compact. I would be extremely mad if my alfalfa had turned out this bad. :rofl:

Wet all that stuff down to get the biology going and the seeds germinated. If you got good biology going , Once the cover crop is up and established, roughly two weeks, you can plant another cannabis plant.

If that take and bake is cheaper than the 3.0, I'd say go for it.

I hope that helps with making your decision!:pass:

Im going to order a custom made grassroots bed for my 3x3 and the dimensions I'm thinking, 35x35x12 would be about 60 gallons of media. Basically the entire take and bake kit. Its about the same cost wise buying as many 1 cubic foot bags of the 3.0 or light mix as it would be to buy the kit and just mix it myself. My plan was to order them both probably mid October, I should get the bed and the kit roughly about the same time, I'll mix it up and let it cook and by the time Im ready for my next grow it should be more than ready to use as it will be cooking for almost a month if not more depending on how long it takes my current grow to flower out.

I was also thinking about buying worms to add to the bed and doing a cover crop and just defoliating and leaving everything in the bed to add material to compost regularly. Im just getting into this whole living soil thing so I will definitely need coaching along the way.
