Good afternoon everybody
Question for yall. Has anyone here bought the take and bake artisan soil kit from BuildASoil? Im thinking about biting the bullet and getting it for my next and future grows as its a living no till soil recipe. Just wondering if anyone has used it or their light blend as its the same recipe.
Do you have a specific reason for wanting to do their 'take and bake'? It's really kind of their version of a ClackamasCoots Style media.
I love the performance of their 3.0! You could easily incorporate ClackamasCoots style ingredients on your own to the 3.0. I still institute some ClackamasCoots style amending, but it's only top dressing.
ClackamasCoots style is more of a hormonal orientated style grow. It relies heavily on hormones produced from Malting/ Sprouting seeds. In addition, it is also beneficial for fungal growth. Another strong part of his style is moderate phosphorus levels. There's not any really high phosphorus containing amendments. In the same thought process this that I have on multi sources of nutrients, the ingredients in the amendment kit have a few sources of phosphorus at normal levels. High phosphorus levels can be detrimental to mycorrhizai.
I'm quite sure it will perform very well!
There are no really
true Ruth Stout no till style Grows, unless you want to talk about LONG intervals between grows.
If you're gonna do long term grows in beds or very large pots, 20 gallon minimum, then you're gonna have to incorporate your ClackamasCoots Style Nutrient Kit into the first few inches of your media when you re-amend. The same day I would add my EWC and compost, combined or in layers, and then plant your cover crop. I cover with alfalfa hay I get from the pet store. LOL! It's 'stemmy' enough not to compact. I would be extremely mad if my alfalfa had turned out this bad.
Wet all that stuff down to get the biology going and the seeds germinated. If you got good biology going , Once the cover crop is up and established, roughly two weeks, you can plant another cannabis plant.
If that take and bake is cheaper than the 3.0, I'd say go for it.
I hope that helps with making your decision!
