When I first arrived in South America in 1970 or '71 my Spanish wasn't so good yet. I was trying to find something on the menu I recognized. I knew that "pez" is fish and there was a dish called "frijoles con pezuña," so I ordered it. They brought a huge bowl of brown beans with 2 pigs feet sticking out of the bowl. My first time eating pig toes. Not bad.
They still sell pigs trotters over here..guessing for traditional stews.

Hubby tried chicken feet in our favourite traditional Chinese restaurant...sweet and gelatinous..the waiter said wow..you never see English people eating chicken feet...coz they are too polite to spit all the bones out...
Ok. It's a rainy day and temps are cooler. That means I can smoke a big one, draw a tub of hot salty water, put on some hypnotic music and SOAK my aching bones.
