I would....:headbang:... when we planted we took the view no fruit should be harvested by Ladder.... might not bother you now..but .. with the lifespan of a fruit tree..it might....
Prune the centre at your chest level...

I did stop the big two fruiting for two seasons by pruning...because mine only fruit on last years growth....:headbang:...so now I only trim half of the branches per season..
I’m thinking I’ll top these during the winter dormant period, so they’ll be ready for spring…. :pass: These ones are fruiting on all the new growth…

I’ve got figs ripening as we speak….surprised to get some the first year….(no peaches this year)….. :pass:
The house we just moved from dude living diagonally from there has like 6 peach trees in his front yard! First 2 he planted were a good 12-15’ tall but for like 3yrs straight his fruit was all bad cuz he never sprayed for pests so the peaches would all have worms in them! He finally sprayed last spring so the fruit would be good and since his house was on a corner (first corner u come to flr the kids walking home from school) and one of them jumped up and swung from a branch and split the trunk of one of the big trees! Fucked it up so bad he had to totally dig it up and replace it so the other big one he trimmed back big time so they would be closer to the same size! While i was living across from him think they planted 4 additional ones going down the side of the house in the front yard so before long they will be making tons of fruit! Just from the first 2 u could literally drive by and see hundreds of peaches in their yard when they were just letting them fall off due to the pests inside!

There’s this clay stuff you can spray them with if you don’t want to use poison…. You have to reapply a few times, but it’s supposed to work well…. That way you aren’t killing off the pollinators and the predators and what not…. :pass:

Kat Kat came to hang while I roast my coffee :kitty::kitty:

Ya i don’t think he knew u had to spray them when they are just flower buds on the tree cuz if not pretty sure its a kind of moth that will lay its eggs in the flower so by the time they hatch it has turned into a fruit so they are born into a buffet!

The house we lived in when i was born i remember mom having a huge garden out back plus a bunch of fruit trees! I think we had plums or apricots and i know we had a few pear trees and the entire backyard was lined with pomegranate trees! To this day i don’t like pears from eating them so often but love me some pomegranate! Think they are what gave me a fondness for sour/tart stuff!
