Back to planning my grow build again...

Anyone using Vivosun inline fans and know how the noise is on them? I've had quite a few old style fans before and they were quite loud... I used to just stick them in the attic and run the ducting through the ceiling.

I did have a 4" AC infinity and it was pretty quiet. Planning a 6 or 8 inch this time. Would Vivosun compare, or is it better to spend the extra 50-75 dollars for AC infinity? Mostly just heard the whooshing air noise with the 4" AC infinity I had.

Speaking of whooshing, anyone use one of these things?

You want a quiet fan? Increase the diameter. This enables it to move more air at low rpm. 8" is 4x the area of 4" 12" is 9x.

It’s the T6 just checked my order history I believe my ac fans are the same the nicer ones. But like I said I hate the Vivosun controller you can’t adjust all the same setting through the controller as you can through the app but the app only works when hooked to wifi. When I first got it we had a different wireless router and it worked fine now that we got a new router it won’t connect to 5ghz network so I can’t adjust settings. So I just switched it out with a controller 69 since it’s the same plugs

Thanks again. I'm leaning towards the Vivosun T6 without the controller(maybe grab the AC one later) for my build. 6" is probably plenty for a 3'x5' with only 300w of mid-tier lights in it.


Good news is I've almost brought my new tent budget back to $1000... Bad news is my car is acting weird and threw out 5 dash lights yesterday; it's at the mechanics now, so that's a delay on my new tent purchase.

That was part of my thought on the 8" over the 6", just run it at half speed for the same airflow... but then it's $70 more just for the fan. If the whooshing becomes the loudest sound, would a duct silencer be a better investment? Or are duct silencers more of a gimmick?

After using AC Infinity in all my tents, I'm just not gonna trust anything else. I run my exhaust fans 24/7. Only the speed changes.
6in handles a 4x4 with a huge margin.

I KNOW they will stand behind their products!!!

This is what I run….. pulls plenty of air for my 2x4 on the slowest speed…. You just hear the whooshing sound for the most part….

If I did it again I’d go with least 8” on a 4x4 and bigger. I feel my 6” is just enough in the my 4x4or5x5 the 6” work awesome in my 3x3
