The cleaners are on the way. They don't speak one word of english (not. one.) But they do a good job. And they leave toilet paper bows and ribbon origami all over the bathroom.

At least you have stylish paper

The red wigglers in the Hot Frog worm bin really surprised me this morning. I didn't wet the cardboard on top well enough after yesterday's swapping around.
I started another worm bin a few weeks ago. I just got another Hot Frog. The first bin has had a fully finished bottom bin for quite some time. I think sitting in place is the best place to store it and to keep it alive. So the top bin is getting very heavy and dense, so it's time to add another layer. I take the long finished bottom tray and place it under the new worm bin I started. Same reasoning, just a good place to store it.
So I take the empty bin from the new Hot Frog, place it on top of the working bin, fill it with proper moistened bedding, dig a trench and bury my frozen worm food. I cut out some cardboard to fit over the top to keep the moisture level even to the top.

This morning, I pull off the top to moisten the cardboard, and there are already worms there! Way less than 24 hours! That is pretty crazy and how they can sense the fresh food!
Here's what they look like.

Here's a view of the 'migration tubes' that the worms used to move from tray to tray.......... Another manufacturer with a similar, but but poorly made, model.

The adult will quickly migrate to the fresh feed and the babies will hang around until everything's eat up. There's not really that much food left.

I'm really amazed how much weight these bins gain as the worms eat and poop!

The next time I replace a bin, I'm going to weigh it with it fully saturated and a feeding. Now, there will be some gain from the increased moisture levels, because of the EWC better moisture handling capability, I still think a subjective conclusion still could be drawn.

I am going to a side by side comparison, seeds not clones, of my homemade EWC and the bag I bought from BAS . They have ran tests with theirs and various other commercial EWC . Theirs were considerably more nutrient dense than all the others. It really just comes down to what you feed the worms. If you feed them quality food, you're gonna get very good quality EWC.

To be honest with you, I'm really skeptical if I'll be able to discern, with any type of certainty, any difference visible, smellable or tasteable. Now that's not to say I cannot come away with an impression. Naturally, it would be a bit more scientific if there were clones.

I really appreciate the small things that brighten my day!:headbang::headbang::headbang:

Everyone have a great Friday!:headbang::headbang::headbang::pass::cheers::bighug::vibe::vibe:Bluestruttin

I love all the differences that you can get when squishing hash. I've had dry ice hash with a low temp squish come out like that above! It was damn good stuff!
I've also had some of that real greasy stuff that was hard to collect up.. You had to work it...... cool. Flavor Blast and a cross your eyes rush.:biggrin::headbang::rofl:

What up ya window lickers!!! Hope everyone has been doin fucking fantastic!!!

Been super busy as of late. Building a new wood shop currently (will be expanding that business exponentially) and starting another business on top of it. Been traveling for research on the second business(uppity pizza place) , multiple business plans etc etc and more etc. Feel bad as I was in several areas where other AFN'ers are, but was traveling with a business partner and needed to concentrate on what we were there for. Also very little time in those spots as well. NYC, NJ, Chicago, Portland, San Fran, LA, San Diego, Miami....all pizza towns

Have been able to keep a couple plants going with bluemat self watering rigs, but they've definitely weren't as pretty as normal. A couple have actually turned out quite stoney I think from the stress! Just chopped four last week. 2 Chemmy Powers and two Highllux which are both Night Owl. Initial "quick dry" smoke was really good!
