Sadly we have no influence on the weather. But me and my dog still hope for pooring rain and storm on new years eve to make it impossible for all the stupids to blast their firework. It's 5 mins fun for them but a month of trauma for my dog.

Morning @Nightqueen ...yeah fireworks are a nightmare when you have a frightened dog.....in Spain it is not the fireworks lights that floats their boats..it the Bang.
Apparently the bigger the bang the richer you are.....so we get a lot of daytime booms as well...

I did have big hopes for silent drone displays...but after seeing how drones are being used in warfare.....I wouldn't even fancy being in a crowd near one now...

mmm, i hear ya....Gracie def duzn't like fireworkz, thunder or gunshotz luckily tho, the 4th of july is the only time they do fireworkz around here, so....small merciez ppp

One tradition here..that I hope they have forgotten about.. #WhiteRabbits #WhiteRabbits is the 24 hour relay.

They have 1 enormous BOOM every hour for 24 hours...that one used to be a bloody nightmare.. ..by the time you settled the dogs down you are 5 minutes off the next one..all day and the night...

ya, discretion is indeed the better part of valor, lol i def wanna enjoy myself, but don't wanna take even the slightest chance of gettin pulled over & gettin a DUI on xmas soooo, i'll get hold of him next day or two & see how thingz stand ppp

When you know every copper working that shift has a grudge huh..?..easy pickings... ..

Over here..part of the fines fund the Local police..so high days and holidays they are manic......

Speaking of christmas, been shopping the weekly stuff needed on saturday and it's been chaotic. Nothing in stock , not even tabacco. People are hoarding a pile up as if there's a new pandemic and a ww3 coming at once. It's just a 4-5 days...nobody is gonna starve even when missing out on shopping. But people seem to go full panicmode, fight for the last box of Spekulatius , that eventually is still there next summer , half eaten, half soaked up with room moisture and the package slightly covered in dust.

I'm not a big fan of made up days of fake tradition and celebrating birthday party of imaginary person. What is the point of xmas? Buying stuff for persons you actually don't even like just to recieve something you don't even need nor ever would have bought. So wife and i decided, this year, no presents for anyone, no deco, full xmas budget blasted into dog and equipment for the plants.

New years eve it's firework day. I get it, you won't get around 4th july fireworks too. But it's time for a change here. Lots of people don't want it, for whatever reason. But nobody is listening. Asked the town for a ban this year, listed all the reasons, got in return a 3 pages letter saying: it's a calculated risk they are aware of but - that's the hidden behind words core message - they don't care nor want to be blamed for consequences...

My little Mini-Husky fears the smell and the explosion noise. It's less the visuals, just that soundscape. She's hiding in our cupboard and shaking all day , for days. We've neighbours who make it to the extreme, using illegal fireworks and throwing them towards our windows and especially towards the dog. Other neighbours have same issue but do nothing.

If people are reading the UK press that is exactly what they are preparing for.... ... some of the newspapers are giving out check lists on what you should stock up on for WW3.. including 5 days worth of water.....

They be better saying grow your own....coz in the event of nuclear war....it will be the only meds available..
