New Grower Looking for commercial auto strain!

The best photo strains are still more potent than the best autos, but the gap is closing. I look at it this way, I can take 5 hits of this photo or 8 hits of this auto and I'm going to get to the same place. To me, that's all that really matters. I've done two auto/photo comparison grows, Black Skull Pineapplegum auto and photo and World of Seeds Pakistan Valley photo and Pakistani Ryder auto. In both cases the photos were more potent but not by a whole lot. Bear in mind that ruderalis, the basis for all dwarf auto strains, has virtually no THC. As breeders move farther away from the original Low Ryder based breeds the potency is going up.

Never knew that it had such low thc muddy. Isn't the ruderalis always going to be needed though in order for a plant to auto flower? Abit of subject here but how long have autos been about. Was it a new discovery that ruderalis will flower regardless of light pattern? I'm not anti auto anyway I've done more auto grows than anything. Autos 100% have a place. I think they are perfect for new comers and can't beat them for in the veg room to give a smoke whilst waiting on flowering room. Also is possible to get high yields and bud that is certainly better than alot of photo strains.

I would reccomend the 2 POUNDER - Kiwi Seeds from Bonzaseeds. Resilient to pests, can take low/high heat stress and it's a high yielding auto.

Hey muddy great info! I've never used cfls. How does yours compare to hid? You're using reg seed cuz you made them?or you don't trust fems?

It's about 4 years now since I stopped using HPS lighting. The CFLs work fine for what I use them for, starting my autos. I've never done a complete grow, start to finish, with them, so have no first hand experience on how they flower. But I've seen a lot of grows here done with them and the results were very good. I grow both fems and regs. I do make a few seeds from my regs for my own use and have made a couple of hybrids, again for my own use.

I forget the exact amount of THC that ruderalis has but it's very low, less than 1% I think. Once the autoflowering gene has been bred in it's there for good. In the original Low Ryder the percentage of ruderalis was higher, around 25% or so. Further breeding has reduced that amount and the potency has gone up correspondingly. We're only talking dwarf autos. Super autos don't contain any ruderalis. They were bred from fast finishing photo strains.

Thanks for the offer but I'm pretty flush with seeds right now. The only place I'm growing photos is in my hydro room and since it's a self contained system, am growing all 8 plants of the same strain. Maybe in the future I can do some more comparison grows but right now my focus is on getting the hydro growing down pat.

muddys right , proper breeding is making autos stronger and stronger :stylez rasta smoke:

heres what DP tony said when i was asking him about the Ruderalis percentage of there Auto White Widow ..."The AWW is indica dom, around 75% indica with around 25% sativa influence. Ruderalis is basically eliminated from the genetic profile now in all the DP auto's. Yes, the genetics for the photogene are there (allowing flowering under 24 hour lighting) but that is about all. I would say ruderalis content is 1-2% if that these days" :High 5:

I have a guy here that is from Alabama that I let try some Ghaze x C99 x C99 that I growed and he told me that it was the best weed he has smoked in the past 5 years and there is some pretty good smoke around here so that says a lot about the potency of Auto's. When I told him what it was it blew his mind now he wants me to grow and sale him half pound of it.

Not sure if this goes with what you all have been talking about but thought I would share.:Piggy Hug:

Thanks again for info. I was wondering what was the deal with super auto. Some one suggested green poison sweet seeds but with the bad exp with freedom. I'm not sure.

My GUESS would be a TD for yield, looking through hundreds of journals on various forums, they always seem to surprise growers..

Be interested to know from more experienced growers on their experiences though

"TD" That's a term I can't seem to define. Maybe I'm having a senior moment...could be the meds tho. LOL!

its a strain by Dutch Passion called "Think different" :D::smokebuds:

oh DUH!!!! :Stones slap: right!
I thought I read somewhere that TD wasn't great in the THC levels. Or was that just someone's opinion?
