If you Google, 300w Dual CFL you should be able to find it pretty easily. This is an Omega brand. Don't get me wrong, if you are growing a forest, this wouldn't be enough. If its one or two Auto's, this works great-cheap to run, don't get hot-simple! I'm actually thinking about swapping it out for a 300w Red when I get my cycle together and have all plants at the same stage of life. If this is what 300w of dual can do, I think a 300w Red would do wonders in flower.

:peace:

I only have one going, so that would proly do it. Unfortunately the budget is tapped for this operation, but definatly for the next one. How much did you pay? The other 300w's i saw were $60 - 80.

Here are some current pictures, they're not very good because they're with my webcam:dunno:

I can't remember how much I paid, that sounds reasonable though. Something to consider, I have used this dual CFL all the way through, I figured if I swap it out to a 300w Red when flower is in full force, then the results could be much, much better. I think 4 awesome yielding Autos under two of these things is very achievable.

Peace!

I only have space for one plant at a time which is really why I'm try to get as much into it as possible. Im actually thinking LED's. I just read a journal of the Think Different unveiling and it was done with LED's and did amazing. They really solve the space, heat, and power problems for a similar price to other options. Im thinking $200 for a 300w and Ill be set. Hopefully my next journal will be LED.

Okay so I've had a few problems pop up over the last few days: both my halogens burnt out and are now replaced with a 2 5000k 25w, 1 25w and one 75w 2700k, all CFL. My temps HAD been great, steady lows of 68 and highs of 80 RH of 25%, now I'm getting lows of 50 and highs of 70 and an RH 80%! I feel like this is really bad because I've been doing research and hearing that low humidity is better for resin development and is stressing me out

My second question: it's only the start of week 6 but I'm starting to see a few red hairs already and got excited and mixed my bloom nutes in. I havnt been getting a whole lot of vert growth but I had heard to wait until week 8-ish for bloom nutes.
(Im using jacks classic 20-20-20 and jacks bloom 10-30-20) Should I keep going ahead with the flowering or wait? And what should I do amount climate control???

P.s. Im doing 1/4 tsp classic and 1/4 tsp bloom in 1 gallon of water for now, figure best of both worlds?

Hey do you have any pictures? My "cab" gets to 82-84 and humidity is below 30%. As I've said I'm no expert but my SMR has frosted up great. I read once that in lower humidity, buds pack on resin to be more sticky for the pollen they are expecting (but never receive mwahaha).

As far as nutes go. All I can offer is my experience. I had major PH/nutes/lockout issues until I followed a nutrient schedule. As I think I previously stated, I use Biobizz-soil and nutes, all organic. I have followed their schedule for the last 3 weeks of my current grow and the results are great. Maybe see if there is a schedule out there that can help. For what its worth, my schedule has grow AND bloom all the way to flush, but in different amounts depending on stage of grow.

Hope this helps man.

PS, why are you having those 23w CFL's when you could have a 300w Dual or Red in there and boom it will take off. Same light fitting.

Peace

Sweet Ill stick with nute regiment right now cause I havnt seen any ill effects, I was more worried about getting the best out of my buds. And I would love to have a 300w! but no $. The small CFL's are left overs from my last grow, and if Im going to spring for lights it's going to be this baby.

How can I make my (I like the word 'cab' btw) warmer? Previously the halogens heated it up, but its spring time in the midwest which means ambient damp and cold and the CFLs cant overpower it.

Im working on getting pictures, I need to borrow a quality camera from someone tho.

This is kind of my point. My "cab" lol gets hot because the CFL is huge. It heats it up just nicely, but I dont' think your temps are too bad. Maybe someone with more experience can help you out here, but to me, the better the light source, or should I say lumen per sq ft is just as important for bud formation as soil or nutes. Put it this way, I screwed up all my plants up to now, and even the SMR has had a REAL hard time of it PH wise. But the buds on this thing are unreal. I'm convinced it's having the CFL of that wattage at 3" away, it just basks in all the CFL's glory!

Please understand, I haven't grown under HPS, MH etc. I haven't even had a successful yeald yet, but that's about to change in a few days and it's down to correct PH and having that 300w CFL damn close to those buds.

If you are growing just the one plant for personal use, as I am, I'm totally happy with my plant so far.

Hope this is of some help to you.
