Looking for suggestions

This is the system. There is an adapter you'll have to pick up that goes on the faucet, that piece you can leave on. It takes about 45 minutes for 5 gallons, and I loop them so I don't have to change bottles during fill. One to the next and so on. Set timer and check once in a while. I usually do it while watching a movie where I can see it...
Spills suck.

So I stuck changing to Distilled or RO. Do you think my aquariums have a lower ppm given the carbon filters and biological bacteria in the filter media. Unfortunately I'm renting and cant do much about installing a RO system unless it's an under the sink system.

I also ordered a TDS meter to check any difference in my tap water vs aquariums.

I’d be looking at an RO system to remove the variables in your tap water. 225ppm Sodium isn’t a lot for a person drinking the water but may be too high for plants. A cheap, portable RO system is the way to go as Arthur mentioned. The report doesn’t show chlorine levels that I can see. If your city adds chlorine to sanitize tap water, that will be a factor as well and more so if they add chloramine as it won’t off gas like chlorine does.

.23 was the highest chlorine count for 2017. I agree I'll be investing in ro and using distilled water for my next watering

Thanks Arthur! I found it in Amazon I'm going to order it up next check and start using that with calmag every watering. Hopefully this corrects things. Going into week 5 and don't really want to see these two autos get wasted

Tested my water today 425ppm out of the tap one aquarium I have was about 1000ppm and the other 400ppm

I did buy 2 gallons of distilled water to use next feed with calmag and URB. I've heard great things about this product in soil grows.

Where did the aquarium water originate? If it was really low ppm initially, I would guess the ppm there is fish waste etc...
But if it came from the tap...

It was straight from the tap about 5 months ago. I tend to avoid water changes in my aquariums to keep chlorine and the bacteria thriving. I assume the high ppm in my planted tank is due to the dirt substrate. I have potting soil capped with black sand as my substrate for plants in the tank.

Just thinking the salts wouldn't be filtered out going thru the tank, just adding the fish waste... the last part would be pretty good.
