Louisiana farmers see, and will see more clearly the opportunity to produce additional revenue by growing an early season of .3% THC or less CBD rich hemp outdoors as well as a regular, extended second crop under more normal photoperiod conditions. Beating the other states to market to fill the "dry summer" with substantial biomass from an early crop is a commodity play of which Louisiana farmers will take advantage. How Louisiana farmers will do this, what strain and seed they will use, how they will cultivate that strain, test seed candidates, and how they will grow that strain to harvest is an interesting challenge Louisiana farmers will take.

The first outdoor crop will not have photoperiod stimulation, or lack of that, (light deprivation), to spur flower development and will blossom during the extreme heat and humidity of Louisiana's growing conditions, in late June and early July. Your input is valued as Louisiana may provide an excellent outdoor, industrial sized test bed to develop AF and super AF.

....Did you have a question? :confused1:

If you were farming 1-4 acres in Louisiana, planting in early April, which AutoFlower seed strains might you consider growing, (or breeding in trial), to provide the greatest statistical probability you would not incur criminal and civil penalties, or face crop destruction, or be forced to remediate THC when processing to CBD crude or distillate referencing:

Louisiana ACT No. 164 - http://www.legis.la.gov/legis/ViewDocument.aspx?d=1143697
§1461 (11), page 3, lines 11 through 15
and also page 3, lines 16 through 21

and importantly to conform to:
§1468, A. and B., page 8, lines 13 through 24
§1469, B., page 9, lines 3 through 5

and very importantly to conform to:
§1471, A.(3), page 10, lines 12 through 13

and also very importantly:
§1471, A.(4), page 10, lines 14 through 18.

Which says that seeds must be approved by the Chemistry and Seed Division of The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, and that they will be tested during growth, tested just before harvest and tested after harvest to insure they are .3% THC or less based on dry weight, or you get busted and may incur potential civil and criminal penalties.

One caveat is Southern University and Louisiana State University may contract with growers to produce seed for distribution to Louisiana farmers as they breed seed. As rules and regulations for Louisiana's state hemp laws have not been developed it is unclear exactly how one would proceed with a contracted breeding trial or program with the universities enabled to do so under the law.

The objective might be to breed strains in trial to achieve the fastest results that meet the criteria of the law and consistently provide at least 10% CBD across the dry biomass.

Or, if AutoFlower seed strain is currently available that might consistently produce dry biomass that is .3% THC or lower and also have 10% or higher CBD across dry biomass, which one(s) might that be?

Thanks to all who might provide input or direction for this research.
