Decided to post this here instead of the infirmary because I wonder if this is partly related to the power of the autocob light. I'm a newby so for all I know this is pretty common with any kind of light. Anyway, I have been surprised a couple of times by how much bud there is hidden in the lower canopy. Its freaking insane how much I have on one plant in particular. And I didn't realize it was happening at first so it was surprising.

But its is moist and green down there and I worry about mold. My RH is 35 in the tent but those budlets feel pretty moist and the leaf growth down low and inwards to the main stem is pretty green once get in there and have a look.

This plant is bushy. I LST tied it down more than once, pruned it a couple of times (but not extreme -- minimal lollipop), and I pretty much had to do some foilage management to open up the spots I found tonight so it gets more air.

Question. Would you remove this type of growth or leave it and try and manage it? I"d say its 3 weeks in to flowering so I'm afraid pruning might do more damage than good. I lowered an autcob close and then angled directly in to the area in the low canopy that I opened up a bit.

Also would you open it up and encourage more growth by letting light in? If you do that sure your yield is more but what if you end up creating a mold monster?

I took some pictures but its hard for me to capture this with a camera.

One of the first things I thought was the autocob are so powerful they can encourage more growth down low than normal. Other lights might not get much growth going on down there. If so, I'm going to rethink what I do with canopy management/training in the future. I'd love to maximize the power of the autocob!!! Hell, I'd love double by autocobs so I can do more side and spot lighting on the lower sections and make use of that crop space.

These are buds in the lower canopy and very close to the main stem.

Autocob doing spotlight duty! I opened up that part of the lower canopy and have more fan power on it and decided to blast some autocob life in to the dark, dank inside of the plant.

Well 3 weeks in flower you are way safe to trim yet.
I just trimmed at 5 weeks.

Before
The other 3 after
I see that you utilize a thermometer with remote sensor. I have a couple of them in my tent. They are very handy for my grows. Has your sensor worked well? With all those lights you could have a tanning booth side job.

@Growtogrow I can see the difference but not the details. Its hard to capture with a camera.

Did you remove lower bud growth?

Just re-did the math on this plant. its a MG Skywalker day 56. I can never tell when flowering officially starts but lets say 4 weeks of veg and 4 weeks of flowering. So maybe 2 to 3 weeks to go. Would you hack buds out of the lower canopy in this situation?

All I have read so far says you should not defoliate once you are well in to flowering. But I'm learning as I go.

Well you think you only got 2 weeks left thats is a little late.
But you can take some of the lower stuff off.
But as a rule up to 4 weeks after buds start you can take foliage off. And that a lot of time depends on indica or sativa
You should lollipop them just before you flip them or within a week of flipping take most of the lower buds and foliage off.

Look up Defoliation. That will help you.

I've got 2 of the remote and yes one dont work. But both receivers work so I have one in the living room one in my favorite room where I sit at and I can see my temperature all the time from the one remote sensor.

Thanks Bro. I must browse and read growweedeasy every day. Always looking up something on that site.

I'll have a look at her tomorrow after the work I did tonight and see if there is part that looks like it would be wise to remove. Or just do some more pinching and bending.

I couldn't find anything that looked good to me for remote monitoring. So I got a cheap wifi camera that I can view and control with my phone anywhere and point it a hygrometer I have very close to the canopy. I have to shield it because of the bright light, but it works great. Been out for dinner a couple of times and had a temp issue that I am glad i knew about. I can also check temps from my bed in the middle of the night in the dead of our deep, cold, long winter and know that my plants are not freezing or something bad like that.

Right on... I did have 4 rooms. I needed to know the temps. So got some real cheep ones at the Menards at the end of summer sale I only pay like 8 bucks a piece but the remotes are all on the same frequency so if you don't have them far enough apart they read each other all the time so they really didn't do any good
