DAY 8 SINCE PLANTING


Well things are moving along decently, not as fast I was expecting. I started the LED light at about 3 ft, I noticed the plants growth rate had slowed down and saw the stalks were bent slightly towards the light. I took this as a sign that they were looking for more light. I moved the light 1 foot closer and things took off again.

Im still feeding 1/8 strength nutrients and voodoo juice. Nutrients are my own dry salt formulation. Im watering every other day until I get 10% runoff to waste.

1 of the plants is a mutant but has nothing to do with genetics. Just after my last post I accidentally hit the sprout with 1/8 strength nutrients and voodoo juice. I rinsed it with pure water and let it dry before putting it back under the light. Ive hit plants leaves with nutrients before and it didn't do this so Im blaming voodoo juice and warning people to make sure you don't spill this on young plants!

And this is the mutant that had voodoo juice spilled on it. Everything was normal until then.

Love how they stay short and no stretch. Something I'm working on, need some new fluoro's....They are loving that LED light!

Thanks The stretch thing can be strain dependant also. Plus we are using different medium, nutrients, lights... There are so many factors. When they are young like this what really matters is harvest day....

Day 50

The big female is bulking up and I can see seeds growing on her, not very many but there are some there. The female in the back left corner actually started putting out some nice flowers, the female in the front still has tiny flowers, I think Im going to toss her to make more room, these plants just keep getting bigger! Im seeing some burnt leaf tips on the large female so she will be getting 50% nutrients for the next two feedings then I will max her out at 75% nutrients. Other than that everything is going smooth.

Hey Hank! These LR#2 beans have surprised me also! The description at the seed bank says Joint Dr. is on his 11th generation of this strain and has improved it a lot since it was first released.. I guess its true because I grew this strain about 10 years ago and it wasn't like this!

Day 57

Things are still progressing and Im getting anxious for harvest. I burned some leaves on the main cola of the big plant, I was trying to see how close I can get this LED. It was strange because I thought it was nutrient burn but it was only on that one part of the plant very close to the light, the plant showed no signs of heat stress just yellow spots all over the leaves on that one cola. The plant in the far back left is flowering but is obviously going to take more time than the other two plants. The little plant with little flowers is by far more potent than the others, she is really packing on the crystals..

The small, little producing plant is just loaded with crystals on her small buds!

Day 62

The large female is ripe and ready for harvest but some of the seeds look a little pale in the seed pods so Im giver her until day 70 to finish, she has one or two more feedings then i will begin the flush and harvest her on day 70.. The other two plants are coming along but are obviously going to take longer than this lady but they will have room to stretch out once the big female is gone.. Im not interested in any seeds off the two small plants.

Just waiting for the seeds to mature!
