Hi, so glad I found this place. Stumbled upon it kind of how I stumbled upon 6 seeds of original Lowryders from 2005 in my attic a couple of weeks ago.

Impatiently I germinated three if them and decided to make a window sill grow while I reeducated myself. Needless to say, the window sill idea is out. But I'll get to that.

Back in 2005 there was very little information about auto flowers, at least to my knowledge, and so I did my best and grew 4 of them in a single 5l pot under 5 20w cfl inside a speaker. One of them turned out to be a male, so after harvesting and drying (didn't even cure them right, just left them in a brown paper bag in a closet for two weeks) I had like just under an ounce (I guess from the size, no scale either hehe). Anyhow, circumstances prevented me from growing more and I forgot about the remaining seeds - and here we are today.

I germinated three seeds and got to reading. And even if I understood that window grows we're hard, my apartment face 178 degrees south with well over 16 hours of sunlight (10 of them direct). But after you see my pictures you'll see why I gave up and bought a tent (coming next week). Also, my untried pot laws are quite crazy so I want to stealth it up.

Pictures are of Day 21 (somewhat unsure, forgot to make a note of the sprout date, but I know when I put the seeds in water, which is 28 days ago).

The setup is south facing window sill, organic soil with chicken manure, mixed with non organic soil with 11-5-8 (30/70% mix) with perlite, bottom layer of leca. Humidity is between 25-55, which is hard to control. Temp around 25-32. They are all in plastic buckets with a lot of air holes and drain holes in the bottom.

One of the plants is doing real well (Biggie), one is closely behind (Smallie) and the third is super slow, and has mutations (nodes coming out as one and a half leaves) (the Cousin).

I don't have any questions atm, but I'm sure they will come. Feel free to ask me anything.

First off, Welcome!

Very neat story about something forgotten, found again and reawakened :) (your interest and the beans ;)

I totally get the nostalgia aspect of coming across the seeds again.....but....

To my understanding and as a result of my reading the difference between an 05 Lowryder and modern autoflowers seems to be night and day as it relates to genetic quality and THC content.
I would hate for you to be dissuaded from really enjoying autoflowers because of 9 year old gear. Please give some new strains a shot once you've wrapped these gals.

Cheers and Welcome back!

PS. You should grow LowRyder #2 or EasyRyder next and compare/contrast....:) just a theory.

Looking forward to seeing them grow in a tent, I grew some of these in a garden years ago, it'll be very interesting to see how genetics have advanced.

Haha, yeah, I understand that too. I remember the effects from last time mostly being couch drowning. Now that I actually went and spent some cash on the tent and lights, I don't think that the output of these will affect me too much. I'm having so much fun reading and growing, I consider it therapeutic in itself.

After these are done, I'm going to do the last three in the tent from star before looking into new seeds. Am really interested in trying a sativa heavy or a different tasting one (auto blueberry?). Unless you know a grower in this country cannabis is mostly binary. Either good or bad, nothing that stands out especially.

Forgot to add that the height on the plants are
1: 9cm / 3.5in
2: 4.5cm / 1.7in
3: 3.5cm / 1.3in

I remembered. I had one question. This isn't preflowering? Just joint leaves, right?

Not showing sex yet, just internodal calyx's thus far ....:)

Plenty of awesome Auto-Hazes (Very Sativa-Dom) gear out there now....spend some time dinking around Herbie's auto flower site, they have a "Mostly Sativa" category with all the Sativa-dom stuff listed :)

What lights have you ordered?
A 50w led UFO (25x3w red, orange, blue) slightly in the blooming range. Came with the tent package. Going to supplement it with a 25w cfl I have, and thinking about getting a UVB 15w tube.

Thanks, as I thought.

Autohaze sounds interesting. Will totally check it out. Except for anonyweed and lowryder I've only tried orange kush. All of these new strains within the autos are opening up interesting possibilities :D

You may want a bit more light....I'm underlit at 135W (90W actual draw - they clock them back for longevity - looks like you're at 50W actual though) Amazon has the 135W for $86....and the 180W for $109.

Just my 2 cents.

I'd love those prices, but I haven't found any within the EU that cheap yet. 90w run at $200 and up :/
