Hey,

I'm growing my first -ever grow, a Indica-dominant strain Chocolate Orange, a new 2015 breed by Dr Krippling. It's Black Domina x Critical Mass x Cream Mandarin.

I have a Mars 300 (60 x 5w) LED light a foot away from the plant on a 20/4 schedule. Passive intake and 8" extraction but dialled down, internal circulation fan (clip-on) and a ceramic fan heater.

It's in a 20 litre (5 gallon) air-pot with Plant Magic Soil Supreme with added perlite (25%) and dolomite lime (1 cup). Was cracked from a seed in a seperate tub of Soil Supreme, and transplanted after a week or so. No visible signs of stress, other than the first water caused some next-day leaf droop, the day after she had recovered and hasn't had an issue with leaf droop again.

Feed has been Plant Magic myzo granules & rooting stimulant, catalyst (rhizo), bio-silicon, and grow. Very low doses of around 1ml per litre, except rooting stimulant which is around 2ml/l. Feeding has been weekly as the soil has retained moisture and I don't want to overwater. Runoff to 20% to prevent salt buildup. Water is tap water left to stand for 24+ hours to dechlorinate. No PH testing but I'm in a soft water area.

It's in an indoor tent, 4' x 4' x 6.5', temps vary between 16 and 25 celsius (60-77 F). As temp drops the fan heater comes on to boost internal temperature, but it's on a dial not LCD-figure temperature.

The plant is now at the start of week four, a good lush green but she's very small. It's also supposed to be one of the quicker (if shorter) varieties. The breeder does say it's a lower-sized strain, so am I just panicking over nothing?

I have two worries: first I added too much Dolomite Lime and there's a touch of Cal-Mag overabundance, it can cause stunting and very green growth. I also worry the temps are a touch too cool.

This is a picture at DAY 26.

What do you guys think?

THANKS!!

Hi buddy do you have fresh air intake ?

You may just find that the strain itself has these growth patern you may find within the next week they will start pumping up abit ..

Some autos are very slow the first half of there life as all the plant puts all its hard work into the root system

So give them some time ..
i will keep an eye on this one :)

It's in a bedroom, but a window is ajar and gets good ventilation with prevailing winds.

I technically stated it under a weak household natural daylight type bulb LOL. It stretched a bit but I potted an inch or a bit less of the stretch into the soil. The stem is looking relatively thick and tough. (Bio-Silicon will be helping for that).

I think I was panicking slightly as I saw some other (probably sativa) auto pictures of a younger plant than this and they're miles high. Anway... will keep growing away... thanks!!

Try get a direct feed of fresh air .. i have noticed with my auto grows that starting off with a cfl for the first 14days this lets the growth pattern establish alot quicker ie faster root growth first i use to run a hydroponic shop and befor selling up leds came in and on test grows ie peppers the led lacked at first .. but anyhow im always here for info or advice my man ..

Same applys people

Better. Getting large, getting some budding sites.

The picture doesn't do it justice as there are lots of budding sites hidden in the undergrowth.

Looks nice and healthy!

They look nice and healthy, good job. It will hit a growing spurt that will amaze you. I have 3 Girl Scout Cookies and two are just about 4 feet and one of them has the same growing pattern as yours. That smaller one at week six is a very nice plant. I tucked as many leaves as to give all the bud sites time to grow through the other leaves.

The shorter of the 3 (there is another that is 4ft) was the tallest at about day 18. Then the other two just sky rocketed,I had to send them into flower a week earlier than I had planned to. Now the top of one of the plants is only six inches away from the top and my 4x4 tent and that tent is stuffed. That is going to be really nice plant, good job.

When they hit that growth spurt, all I can do is smile. Thats a nice looking bush you got going on. Looks like she is catching up nicely.

@Ripped In Oregon have you done any lst on your gsc, or is that them naturally? I don't see anything just thought I would ask. I have a gsc seedling going, looking forward to watching her.
