Old Reviews Magic Flight Launch Box on its way.

The diameter of the mflb batteries are a bit larger than standard double A's but the grounding coil on the box can be slightly pushed in with a small utensil - I used a flat head screw driver to adjust mine for the purpose of using energizer rechargable nimh batteries at 4000 milliamp hours each... I got four and a charger for about 20 bucks at the local pharmacy. Or you can buy sets of two mflb batts for a tenner, plus shipping.

Also the new power adapter is out that includes a 12v car adapter, and that has a little dial you can use to adjust the current from 1-10. Thats like 80 bucks US but probably worth it for intense vape sessions or for use with friends who won't immediately grasp the concept of holding the battery down to vape.

Glad ya'll are still looking at this little wonder as an option... I never leave home without it and three spare batteries.

I grabbed this link from the MFLB website about batteries Magic-Flight - Battery FAQ - it seems they're quite specific and in the UK (pc world / currys) i had difficulty finding appropriate batteries.

Batteries used with the Launch Box vaporizer must be AA NiMH rechargeable with 2000 mAh capacity or greater.
The ones i got are 1950mAh

Magic-Flight also recommends Maha Powerex 2700 mAh batteries for frequent/heavy use.
The bloke in the shop thought i was mad when i mentioned 2700mAh

If you are going through batteries that fast, it sounds like you are smoking instead of vaping.
Hmm maybe - but i'm not getting much if any smoke - but i did notice the glass tube is getting a little discoloured! I'm cetainly feeling loads better for smoking through the vape and i dont mind if i get though a few batteries a night :)

Hey Grado! Sometimes when i pop my battery in, i have to jiggle it or twist it a bit to get the light to come on. is this normal or should it come on straight away??

Could the grounding coil inside the battery hole be pushed in too far? and if so, is there an easy / safe way for a non DIY type to safely sort this out??

Same issues I'm having.. one "hit" battery dead... no signs of really anything inside the chamber.. the glass piece is showing a bit of discolor.. not feeling any effects.. get frustrated, grab my monkey pipe..put magic flight back in cab.. Lol. Ill try picking up some different batteries.. I think I'm Definately vaping instead of smoking.. because I did keep that battery pushed it once because it just wasn't producing anything.. to the point of "smoke" instead of vapor.. Lol.. I didn't use anything except the brush it comes with to clean.. so I know I didn't rip anything. Ill pick up batteries and report back here if it helps. Thanks for the tips on this piece..

Hey guys I've just stumbled into this thread here.. I've got a few launch boxes & the Maha charger etc.. If your in the UK (Blue) you can get appropriate batteries for your LB on Amazon.. It's the Powerex 2700mh ones.. But you have to strip the outer skin off of them.. Use some WD40 or something like it & that'll get all that sticky shit off.. The 2700 are good batteries.. No doubt..
I'm actually waiting for my next replacement Power adapter to arrive from Magic Flight.. But it's still sitting in San Diego ATM..

Anybody want LB advice.. Not blowing my own trumpet but... I know a good bit about them.. (Magic Flight & Launch Boxes etc) just ask folks..

MFLB has good customer service. If your batteries are dying that fast, you should
contact them. They'd know how to fix it. You could also consider getting the
adapter, which would both replace the battery, and make the heat adjustable.

Ok ok I'm reading more here... MFLB batteries MUST be rated 2000mh or over or it will not work.. That little box draws 5amps!! Meaning if your battery is not up to it.. It just won't cut it.. Get those 2700 batteries folks & watch & feel your LB fly!!

Also I hate to admit it but the Powerex/Maha wizard one battery charger is a great... No essential purchase when going with a LB as your vape.. It's expensive but it's boss !!

MFLB has good customer service.

Is go as far as to say Magic Flight's customer service is second to none my friends.. Second to none!!

I think i've got it now guys :) it's just a learning curve that takes a bit of getting used to after twenty odd years of smoking joints hehe.

Last night i went through 4 trenches and 4 batteries (2 were the offical MFLB batteries and two were rated at 1950mh - to be honest i didnt notice a lot of differnce in the vape or how long the battery lasted, but that is probably because it's so new to me)

What i Hadn't noticed beofre last night is that when i look down the wooden stem (i bought one extra becuase it looks nicer) i can see the battery light ... handy! It does connect all the time and there isn't a problem with it - the problem was getting my head around it.

Really enjoying the MFLB more than smoking joints - i rolled a fatty last night after a few goes on the vape - and just didnt really enjoy it. Hit me really hard, but a bit dirty too!

I think i'm a convert! ^_^

Thanks for all the advice and cime in guys, it's been a real help!
