Greetings,

I have a 5 week old auto fem hijack plant that is having some issues.

Originally I was using distilled water and I believe my ph was low and the plant was locked out of magnesium.

I did a 5 gallon 6.5 ph flush that had a low 6 runoff but the ph meter craped out and not sure if the reading was totally accurate.

I use a simple ph drop test now and have added 1 tsp of Epson salt to each of the last two watering. Additionally I use SOS to help keep salts off the roots.

The first watering after flush had 2.5 ml of tiger bloom, 15 ml sos, 1tsp epson salt and 1 tsp molasses. Ph to 6.5 not sure the runoff

Second watering, most recent had 30 ml sos, 1 tsp es, 28 ml of big bloom.

Steadily the fan leaves have been turning yellow and branches have gone red.

It's effecting the lowest growth but slowly moving up. I don't see it as much on the bud site leaves but noticed one close to the bottom maybe going.

I don't have what people will want accurate runoff ph, but will with my next watering around sunday evening.

You will see in the pics the magnesium def within the leaves but they seem to have maybe changes to nitrogen def with the yellowing?

Not sure, this is my first grow. I can say that my NlxB is not experiencing the yellowing and I've been using the same water and mostly the same nutes with both plants.

This is a small closet with 2 gallon airpots using roots organic original soil.

I've attached pics

Thanks for your thoughts

Sorry want to add rh stays between 30 and 50. Temp has been high, 84ish when I started but now down to 79/81 .

Running a 21/3 light cycle. Temp stays around 70 @ nighttime.

Hi Castle :)

You could post in the live help thread. I think being in there will russell up some rapid replies to your problems.
I had, have, something just the same with my current grow.

In the end it was decided I was over watering, which I agree with.
That said Im not totally convinced all is well in my room. So yesterday I splashed out on a Blue Labs soil ph meter.
Seems reading ph from soil is a dark art.

Today it arrived and my soil ph is lower than ideal at 5.7 to 5.9.
Thats all I can say, Im not experienced enough to advise you.

Dont let it get you down though, act as quickly as you can.
Best of luck

edit: oooh my bad, your in the infirmary thread... See what do I know

The leaves are showing a lack of mag and the red stems indicate a lack of phosphorus. Without knowing the run off pH I'd say they are underfed. The correct dose on the epsom salt and molasses is 1 tablespoon per gallon of feed. At 1 teaspoon, that's only 1/3 of what they need. At 5 weeks they are probably about finished with their vertical growth and going into full flowering, so should be able to handle 1/2 strength nutes, which would be 5 ml each of the Grow Big and Tiger Bloom.

Thanks, Muddy.

I did a feed with 5ml tb, 5ml gb, 1tbs es, and 30 ml sos. Runoff was very low ph, well below 6 :(

Can I foliage feed some es and gb just to get some nutrients to her?

Seemingly I need to do another flush to get the ph up?

I appreciate any input.

Thanks.

I hate flushing as it's so stressful on the plants. What were the actual readings of your feed and run off pH? Depending on what they were you may be able to address it by raising the pH of your feeds.
