.....
For sure the acidic soil kicked lockout and uptake problems off, hence the fans getting tapped out like this so soon,... what your pH is going in doesn't reflect what the actual in-pot pH is, too many other influencing factors in there! .... also, are you actually adjusting the AN nutes pH, or is that what the pH is normally after mixing? ....never adjust nute solution pH with AN, they strongly frown on that....their whole schtick is "self-adjusting" pH--in solution only, not once in pot,...
So the question remains, is the in-pot pH still off? Testing straight run-off is not accurate at all, in case you were doing that,... part of the leggy build is the HPS color spectrum, not the best at all for veg' period,... Are you using any Ca-Mg? .... those bowed curled leaves at the tops,.. smacks of a bit too much N as well,.. AN has an odd NPK balance as is, and if you're tinkering or using a light dosage, with little to no other products, you could be coming up short of other nutes,....
So, let me get this right:
- The soil is too acidic and needs changing. If I don't do this via pH up into feed, how can I do it? (Both during the grown and before)
- That's my adjusted pH. In my previous run, I suffered different issues which was deemed to be a pH issue as well as my water being extreamley hard. So this time I invested in RO, a soil and water probe and pH up and down. The plants seemed to be pretty happy with me adjusting the pH. The soil I found then to be to acidic at ~5.4 so I over copensated with pH up in my water to try and equalise the pH in the soil. I did this for maybe 2-3 feeds and after I saw all the issues.
- I have cal mag but and used it in small quantities for a short period before reading on the back of the bottle that I don't need to use it if I'm using their base nutes.
- I am only using advanced nutrients as per Tangs auto feed schedule. Seems to be working well for many others. Im not tinkering with it other than adjusting the pH, which like I said seemed to be working till I added extra pH.
- The lights I do plan to change to CFLs during veg, recommended by a few users here in previous posts. Do you think this is the main reason they are so tall and not short and bushy?
Cheers!
