New Grower Mandala Seeds slap back on germination. Opinions?

Check the advice Mandala seeds offers for germinating. It runs counter to many of the techniques commonly proposed throughout all the rank and file growing forums. They say the guidance applies to their seeds and maybe not for others but what's so special or different about their seed?

For instance, they counter preceding germination with any soaking of seed in water or paper or otherwise. Check it out:

I have germinated seeds by direct planting as well as using wet paper towels. I get just as good results if not better with direct planting the seed in soil placing it just below the surface and it is certainly easier doing it this way.

What about covering with plastic wrap albeit with holes in it? Dangerous?

When I used paper towels I would cover them with plastic wrap to maintain the moisture level. Is that what you meant by "what about covering...?"

I cover my pots with cling film(to keep the humidity/moisture level nice), then remove as soon as seed breaks surface. Just a(very basic) homemade propagator/cloche really...

I mean like what krug says. I soaked them in a shallow dish for 17 hours, at which point they both were sinkable with a gentle bop on the noggins (this sinking is supposed to have deep meaning). Then I put them straight into 3 gallon pots with a 50/50 mix OF/HF with Happy Frog only laced on top to isolate the seedling, if any, from the lava heat of the Ocean Forest. (I'm being very careful. First grow.) Watered till draining then left to dry out a little. Seeds in. Put under T5 covered with plastic wrap to create a warmer environment than ambient 65*. Punched holes in wrap for ventilation. Perfect. Till Google finds Mandala group who exclaims NEVER soak in water and NEVER put under humidity dome. Beware the fungi spores! Now I hope to see protruding heads. I have to be so careful? Good seeds germinate more often than not, some claim almost 100% but the conditions I created are precarious?
