Grow Mediums MassMom's Ongoing AutocCob, AutoPot, AutoFlower Adventure :-)

hi archie! I had that darn vicks warm mist humidifier on a timer, but it was so inconsistent in the way how long it took to heat up, the amount that actually came out of it, etc. One time i checked the tent and it looked like it hardly came on~ then the next time later in the day when i got home from work it was dripping inside my tent with water! (the lights, everything) scared the beeejesus out of me. There are no controls and it just does what it wants. More of a humidifier to stick in your bedroom with you at night when you have a headcold....to unreliable to be in my tent with the babies :)

Nice humidifier. Got your turn out to be a good investment. If that thing has a filter you may want to consider using RO water in it if your TAP water's pretty hard
I purchased a couple of replacement filters for it, and plan on using distilled water and keeping her nice and clean :-)

I put up a second AutoCob and the heat is now up to 75 in the tent. I also ran the vicks humidifierr a bit and unplugged it when the humidity hit 60. (pain in the arse) The ladies seemed to love it though. Cant wait to have something in the tent more reliable to keep humidity at 60

lots of us have the inkbird t308 that does temps.but its an option

I want to get one of them myself as well. Currently using a variable speed controller but that runs all the time and isn't that efficient because it draws out heat 24x7 instead of only when its too hot. Should reduce my electrical bill. And maybe better for the plants too.

Yes...during the winter I NEED the heat in my tent as where it sits is cold in the winter. but if i go into flower and have to turn on the fan it sucks all that precious heat out of the tent. to bad i couldnt somehow blow that filtered "non stinky" warm air BACK into the tent. Ahhhhh my ocd mind never stops. I drive myself crazy, ha ha!!!

one real bad winter i put my extraction fan on a speed controller and a 15m on/off timer.lucky i didnt have a stinky strain, and it was only for a week or so.

cool idea. ahhhhh the things we will go through!....Someties I feel like McGyver. How do I speed this up, but slow this down. How do I patch this? How do I get this over there without moving this? HA HAAAAA

I thought I was being smart but it didn't work out. My tent is in an unheated but insulated garage. It gets cold in that garage. So instead of exhausting all that nice warm tent air directly outside of the garage I let it stay in the garage. But that warm air was also moist. And we started seeing condensation build up in the garage, which could be rotten mouldy news. So I bought a dehumidifier. That thing did an awesome job of removing the moisture in the garage. No more condensation. Garage was pretty warm. Probably meant I was using less of my heaters. And i had a nice little continuous recycling loop of water in the garage. Every day I'd empty the water from the dehumidifier and put it back in the humidifier in the tent. But the dehumidifier is an electrical bill pig so I stopped using it. And I went back to exhausting outside again and that's where I'm at now. Thankfully its been more like spring here than winter.
