Mephisto Genetics Mephisto Double Grape and Beary White.

nah I dont do 24 bro. Im currently on 12-12 and havent switched back since when this small grow I have currently finishes in a cpl weeks or three ill stop clean and re do en entire tent again. and will go back to my normal which is 18-6. just for money really. but its a nice time.
Right on then it’s @F.N. who runs 24/0 lol I always get you two mixed up and I don’t know why lmao

:smoking: what's up guys? ...sorry I missed the tag, sometimes they don't notify,.. I found this by pure chance!
...weeeelll, since I'm mainly on OD grower, and auto's get a mix of Sun and supp' lighting, I can't really say from direct experience,.. I try to get them 19-20 hours of total light, and haven't done a full 24/0 grow yet, (not in the right place for that these days),... from what i gather, it's pretty variable with cost/benefit between 20/4 and 24/0,.. strain differences, light quality, nutrition, temp/RH, etc.,... all these things have significant influence, and without a true control group with standardized, carefully controlled env. and nute' parameters, any number of influencing factors could account for the observed differences,... Derek and Seabass have made good points on this,... It should be noted that photosynthesis and respiration, the energy releasing breakdown of sugars made by PS, operate independently of each other,.. respiration basically never stops,....For sure, as we all have seen growth does occur in dark,.... True, auto's technically need no "rest" period, but that's not to say under certain circumstances it wouldn't be beneficial,... many folks run 24/0 for veg', then when bloom is well under way, shift to 20/4,... I do believe parentage genetics potentially come into play here,.. something with fair amounts of long season Sativa/landrace in it might fare better with that extra dark time,.. all anecdotal for my part on this, but over the years in the Infirmary some troubles with this have showed up; poor bud development, stubborn, late triggering, and/or poor breeding/bad luck-of-the-genetic-draw,... sometimes dropping light hours simply helped! theoretically it shouldn't, buuuut,...
... The diurnal leaf stem droops is something I haven't found explanation for,... not all my plants do it, some in the same grow will, others don't,.. often they 'relax" the leaf posture even before sunset!... right back up my morning,... same thing for the upright "praying" posture, though that is more common with mine,.. but then, it's the freakin' Sun, right? -- that tends to stay permanent past a point too,...

I always enjoy reading your input @Waira. So I think we can certainly say quality Autoflower cannabis can flourish with anywhere between 18-24 hours light in a day. Like others have said, a variable that works well in one system may not in another. Personally, I'll be trying 24/0 my next run to see if there's a noticable benefit in my system.
I'll update the girls tomorrow, as always Happy Growing AFN!

Riiiggght fuggin @Waira fir the win. Always ready to drop knowledge. And what makes it even sooooo much harder with autos, is getting a true control group due to phenotype variances. And yes of course strain comes into play. And like W said do do lots of other things. In time we will get the answers we seek as our country seems to be leaning towards a relaxed attitude on cannabis. I’m high af.

:crying:-- you mean for a change?! :dizzy::baked::dizzy:
... thanks D-man, I'm happy to help clear fog where I can,.. if I dunno, I say so,... yeah, that's the hitch with auto's, even fem's will have their % differences, they are anything but clones! I was just talking about this someplace,.. FD's or Waxi's thread? Anyway, I was speculating that even pollen from the same mother will have some genetic scrambling in it, since there I'm pretty sure there is this "cross-over" event during chromosomal replication (they swap portions) that occurs before the meiosis cell division starts to form haploid sex cells,... :wiz: ...hence the variations.... but with the right strain, grower familiarity with it, and standardized everything else, some solid conclusions can be reached! ..now, who's got the space for this,...? :crying: no pressure man!

:pass: Cheers Seabass, I endorse being your own scientist! :d5: ... your girls are phaa-aat! :pimp: :slap: ...who's who here? they are superb specimens my friend, excellent job on them! .... I assume the amazing cola ring plant is the DG, from the looks of the trichome coverage on the leaves,.. oh fork me, BW has tangerine-like aroma?!-- I am mental for that aroma!... gotta look into that more and see if it's consistent,... Derek, do you know?

That’s what mine had, both the F1’s and F3’s. Only a couple had it as the predominant scent. But it wasn’t like the pulp of the tangerine but instead like smelling the ribs and it having that kind of earth dirt smell first. Like I said I am high AF I hope that made sense. I actually have half my garden right now are the DG’s(F3’s) including my 8gallon bubble bucket that is going to be a monster come hell or high water as my parents would say

I hear you on the aroma variables,.. most of the truly orange aromas have something else linked to that, slightly astringent, earthy-?, something else I can't quite pin down,.. only a few buds I have smelled had this X-co-aroma missing, and made the bud smell like candy or strongly peel-like! The very best ever I had was an Agent Orange several years ago, so amazing, I blind tested with non-smokers as well, just to see what their noses said,... they thought it was something edible! smokers too, candy jar whiffs all the way! Alas, it must have been a particular pheno', since I haven't smelled anything close since,...
ooo, mass DG grow! budding yet? it must be heaven to breath in there,...

Nope the DG is only ten days or something old. The rest are in their 30’s. You should stop by the house of dreams thread.

Yaaaaa buddy. These fine ladies keep me happy, thanks much for the compliment. And yep, you got it, the trained lady is the DG frost machine. I've read just about every grow log I can find of BW and most say she smells pretty OG, citrus and piney earthiness. Both my wife and I get straight, pure Tangerine. Not a hint, strong, sweet, sugary tangerine. It really is something. Cheers buddy.

Two out of my top 3 you are going to love them. The Stilton special has one of the best tastes I’ve ever had it’s so freaking good. I want to grow it again ASAP

What's the 3rd?! I hooked up a few buds with some Mephisto beans.. who don't typically do auto's. So i'll need to place another order soon, so far Alien VS Triangle F2 are on the list.

Currently schedule is 20/4 but will go to 24/0 when I need the heat source in garage. Just replaced the 600w with 1K as well.
