The bean that germ'd first will be named Toofie One (although she popped second). The other bean that was just put into soil and popped first will be Toofie Two.
The day after they showed up I watered them with a good 8 ounces of water. Just around the stem. Oh yeah....I forgot.
When I drop the beans into their Smart Pots. I'll water the container until the fabric is visibly wet. The push my index finger to just the first knuckle and drop the bean in. Just fill in the hole lightly and let nature takes it's course. This is the time of the grows that needs patience....I now need to wait until they pop the soil. One day goes by. No biggie. Spray the top with water to just moisten on the second day....third day I start to bite my nails...fourth day they should pop....The Toofies popped in 3.5-4 days. I'll let them get used to their surroundings, the are under 42 w Blue cfl as soon as they pop and still using the nursery heating mat.. Then do the 8 oz drink. Wait a day to see how they like it. By this time the Smart Pot will need a good watering. They got their first full saturation of just pH 6.3 water. Now it's a Wet/Dry cycle and we are off and running.
The stems of the Toofies is good and thick for a seedling. Not those wispy seedling stems. Good sign..

Peek a Boo I see you. First pictures of Toffie One and Toofie Two. They are four days old today. As I mentioned I really don't count the seedling stage as VEG. Once they get their first new set of real leaves then the VEG starts. That usually takes 7-10 days from popping.

This is going to be a fun grow. I know the genetics are TOPS. Good Roots Organic. Brand new SmartPots. Veteran Mephisto growers subbed; including the guy who bred the beans. This a good place to be now.
