Where did you find that heat mat thermostat?

My local shop didn't have anything less then $50. I am currently running a simple timer on the mat to try and control temp, but a thermostat would be killer!

Glad you had success with Gold Glue, the one I have running is doing well so far. If you haven't tried the current release of White Chem, all I'll say is that I got 2 seeds as part of my freebies, and today, seeing my plant on day 50, I just ordered an 18 pack "just to be safe"...lol. I'll be posting a thread on it starting tomorrow thru harvest.

The Inkbird model avail on Amazon is more than adequate, but a thermostat is really unnecessary. In normal ambient room temps the mat will raise the temps of a domed tray with rooting cubes or soil about 10-15 degrees F. The actual surface of the mat may reach 20-25 degrees F above ambient so you should always have a buffer if heating a glass with water holding seeds or plate with paper towel, etc. No buffer necessary if a few inches of soil or rooting cube is in a starter tray directly on mat. The only time you might have an issue where a thermostat might help would be if your mat and tray are in full sunlight which could overheat a domed tray even without the heat mat. I have extra thermostats , but with steady room temp of 68-72, I don't use one and the mat just provides a modest bump above ambient. I don't think you'll find a single mat that comes with a built in thermostat for precisely this reason. No need to overthink this one.
