Yes, I had some that looked like that back when I first started growing them. Took me a bit to get it figured out but since then I've not had any issues. I grow in straight Pro Mix which only has starter nutes. I generally start giving them a light feeding at around day 10 or so and they always respond very well to it.

i just find it strange how there is no reason for this poor start, it's obvious the roots arnt establishing therefor the seedlings, are still seedlings!
this soil is ur average multipurpose mix, so nothing in there thats harming them as its clear in my AKR's

Not saying the soil is harming them, just lacking enough N. Does that mix have any mycohorrizal fungi in it? Pro Mix does, plus I add more at transplant, and give humic acid to feed the myco. That will help the root system get established. If you do the foliar with the ammonia you should see results in a couple days. But unfortunately at this point they are probably stunted. No to say they won't still give a descent yield, just not up to their full potential.

thanks for the advice and info. Our soil contains NPK, not stating how much but i'd imagine minimal amounts, trace elements, and has a waterlock system, meaning it absorbs 25% more water. yaeh i think my buddy's gonna start over with an MH bulb and some new beans. pretty pissed off, i would be.

I also got have probs with my mi5s from 4 seeds 1 didn't germ! 1 died in soil didn't sprout! 1 was all mutated but is doing great now! And they other has stunted aftrt 2 weeks! Gutteted cus heard great things from other growers! Seeds were from herbies! Think ill stick to attitude!
