Grow Room Micro PC grow (Still in development)

Hey everyone, in the process of creating my first Micro PC grow. The case i am using is from an old...old...computer i had laying around all these years (windows 98 installed on it) I would like to share my current development with you guys hoping you can help me solve some of the snaps i have run into.

For the intake i am using one 80mm fan.


for the power strip i have gone to a local DIY store and bought some very powerful magnets. I have them hot glued to the edge of the power strip instead of the back to help save on space.


Now where i am running into problems is where i wanna mount my 120mm exhaust fan. I have come up with two different spots where i could make it work. The easier of the two would be right here


As you can see with some simple cuts it will fit nice and snug in there. After i have it all sealed up with my panda liner it will be perfect to easily place a carbon filter on the front of the case for the fan to blow into to help control some of the smell.

But im wondering if it will be close enough to the lights to suck off the heat. So i could with some more cuts move the fan all the way to the top on that side

Heat (actually hot air) rises. Your lights produce the heat. The air gets hot and looses moisture and gets lighter. The exhaust fan removes heat from the box not the light. You'll need negative pressure inside the box. This exhchanges the air from the bottom to the top and then out of the box. You'll need an exhaust fan that will have enough output to do that. You'll never remove all the hot air. What you want to do is exchange the air inside the box with cooler air from outside the box.

Keep the exhaust fan at the very top of the box. There are many formulas on what size fans you'll need and air exchange. I'm not an engineer, so please google what info you'll need. There are plenty of AFN pros that may get you the info you'll need.
