So I had a bit of trim from the little Fastberry plant I grew if you wants back. I got to reading about tincture, so I chopped the trim up, threw it in the oven and then stuck it in a little jelly jar with several ounces of buffalo trace white dog. That stuff is an aged barrel proof bourbon Mashville it’s about 127 proof or 63.5% alcohol. I let it sit for several months, but I could never bring myself to try it because it was frankly kind of nasty looking. So finally, what I did was set up a little “double boiler“ set up with a small glass dish sitting in a pan of simmering water and I reduced his stuff down to a gum. So I ended up with his pictured below. It’s a little blob about the size of a Pea. I tried a tiny bit and compared to the tiny bit of finger hash that I got from my last trim session, it may not be quite as strong and it didn’t seem to liquefy quite as easily but it works. The interesting part is that it taste like buffalo trace white dog is supposed to Fastberry.

If making eddibles this works well but if ur looking to make a dabable extract then you want to get grain alcohol freeze it aswell as the material then put the material in a cup pour frozen alcohol over the material till it just covers the material wait no longer than 1min bc if not you will extract fat lipids ect (non desirables) also the hotter the evap the more terps and other desirables break down so temps and method of extraction make a large difference in final quality if u want me to show u how lmk it's no problem as I love giving back to this community.
I cannot get 190 proof grain alcohol that is safe for human consumption in my state. We are limited to 151 proof by law. I was not aware that until recently because I think that the only time that I’ve ever consumed true 190 proof Everclear was in a frat party in Georgia in 1980. I am not really interested in “dabs” I would eventually like to try some kind of sifting/screening operation to make hash the consistency of the better stuff that I got in the early to mid 80s. This was just an experiment as the tincture smelled like ass. LOL
I change the title of the thread to the plural because I decided that my little black mini – blob of goop was lonely And I was bored. So, I took a standard fine 3 1/2 or 4 inch kitchen strainer and a handful of trim and went to town. The little chunk that I came up with was made By putting the ugly powder into the corner of a Ziploc bag dipping it into a bowl of faucet temperature hot water and mashing it around. I didn’t remove it from the bag rolled it into a ball and pressed it. As you can see, it’s kind of an ugly greenish brown. I tried a bit of the leftover powder in my pipe. Like the finger hash it kind of knocks your head off. So I have come to the conclusion that bad extract is kind of like bad sex. Sure, it may exist somewhere…
