Was wondering if it was a bad idea to mix strains in hydro. I know some can be more nute sensitive then others. And what happens when one plant wants to finish before the others? Not really sure how it would work out trying to flush that plant, while still giving nutes to the others.

Bonus question! I heard when using rockwool, you need to use rockwool conditioner. How long do you normally let them soak?

Thanks.

I would not advise mixing plants from different seed or strains to share a common rez.
Even plants of the same strain from differing seed can have way different nutrient demands.
That isn't to say I haven't done it myself, but it helps to get a little experience before you push the edge.

Bonus;

I agree with Gtron. If you're using separate DWC buckets for each plant it's easier to give specific feeds but if you've got a common res, you obviously can't. Best to stay with one strain. Hydro is a different animal and you'll have enough to learn without worrying about different feeds for different plants.

Yeah was for an ebb and flow system. Thats something i just can't rap my head around. I might just not do hydro for now lol.

Hydro is so rewarding. I feel the same way about soil. Scared to death of it.

Yeah. Running diff types off one res tank confuses me a bit. Want something that has more ease to it, and more control at the same time. With a 4x4, I have like 7 plants going and it takes me a while to water them, clean up the mess ect ect. I may try and wait to run normal types in it :P
