New Grower Mmphseazys 1st Grow Plans...Help Wanted !!!

hey mmphseazy and welcome to AFN.

everyone around here are always willing to help. and defiantly start and keep a grow journal on here as it always useful when you get stuck.

i myself am also new to growing but my advice is to just read as much as you can and then read more. There are a ton of information on here just waiting to be read. and you will learn so much. also don't be afraid to ask question.

you set up is looking good so far so keep up the good work.

my advice is to start with only a couple of plants. i know we all want as much bud as possible on the first grow and you look at the seeding and think they wont grow huge, but they do, and fast. (trust me, i made the mistake) i started with 9 pots that fit perfectly in my grow tent, and now im at day 27 in the grow and i have already had to remove 4 plants because of space issues.

thanks for the reply trustfullytastybuds, i agree with only starting a couple of plants. my main focus is on my sweet tooth and auto purple. the other bag seeds where basically tests to see if i can actually get anything to grow and i did with good sucess so far. two of the bs cups have coco in them as a test also. if and when space becomes an issue i will get rid of the test plants and focus on the autos. byb the way they just broke ground within the last couple of hrs so i guess i'll start that journal.

whats up, i was in a similiar situation. Check out my thread if u want. Here's my rant hopefully you'll take something from it

Lights- I started off with the same lights (kind and amount) now i have 20 cfls and about to get the last 4. I Just hung a power strip upside down and bought a bunch of the socket to 110 plug for like 2bucks and a grip of splitters for 2 bucks as well.

Strain suggestions- I know you started stuff, but AutoMazar from dutch seed.... well almost any of the dutch passion strains (Although there are plenty of other awesome places) anyway but dutch passion has a time lapse vids for all the strains which is helpful. All the vids i saw yield about 70 grams. Plus if you look around AF.net there is always a dutch Passion thread going.

Air- your big thing with 4 plants is smell which people have touched on. There are great o2 scrubbers, and ozone creators. Pay attention to your power consumption so you aren't blowing fuses. I had a DIY 50 cfm scrubber that i made (thats a little low on cfm for you). There are plenty of DIY for it as well as premades.

Nutes- I use Earth Juice which is all natural so its hard to burn plants (although i nearly managed it yesterday). I like them and they aren't expensive, I hear a lot about Canna products as well.

Soil- I used FoxFarm Ocean Forest. People will say it burns seedlings, so it was recommended to me to use a softball size amount of topsoil to plant the seedling into as an early buffer. You can look at my plant and see if you like it.

Bottom line if you want superior results go hydro, a 2 week old plant was double the size of mine and I have had zero issues with mine.
If you have Autos avoid transplants (just chop the bottom off the cup and put that into your medium)
Remember weed is a weed which grew wild with no one paying attention to it, so dont over-pay attention to it, I left mine for 10 days with an aqua globe, and when i came back it looked better than if i was there or not. All though it is f-en hard not too. Later,......

LOL 2birds with one Stone then LOL ..best to have at least 100 watts of light per plant unless its LED ..fresh Air and carbon filter is very important spend a lil extra and get a temp fan controller to avoid any heat problems..it will help you loads in the long run ! Check out Grow More Nutes they are Low cost and they work lots of us use it..if you want organic stuff try the Roots stuff its good or the General organic.:smokebuds:
