MOLD ON CURING buds

I put my not so dried buds in half opened jars and kept them there in my curing process, shaking opened jars daily, and steering the buds, I went on two day trip and when i came home and went to the jars, first thing that struck me was smell of "mold" (it smells like heavy peroxide/ / lite
ammonia) like when you score some Albanian weed.. Fck sake my curing buds got mold on them.. At least those buds that are sitting on bottom of the jar.. Is the sour crinkle and its all bud that I got until next harvest ( I'm having some photoP. who are still vegging).. I'0m planing to wash them with 3% peroxide like Cervantes advise. Does anybody have smarter suggestion..

If we go by the smell I smoked a ton of molded Albanian weed..



And yes weed was jarred in closet in the same room where my grow tent is..
Should I worry?

Sorry to hear that man. I would empty the jars and separate all the mouldy buds.
Put the good ones in brown bags-or back to whatever your prefered drying method is.
Have you got any little hygrometers?
You get them pretty cheap on ebay.
I put them in the jars with the weed when i think its dry enough.
If it reads higher than 62% i let them dry some more.

Anything over 70% in jars and your at risk of mould dude.
You might already know this but i thought id post it anyway brother.

As for the already mouldy buds you eithrr try the washing or make oil from them.

I know how it feels i lost about 6 oz ofbud to rot last summer trying to dry in a room at 80% humidity

Thing is they were in pretty dry room, and buds were smoke able, you didn't need to dry em more to be smoke able.. sadly I think that 2 days of not mixing them/shuffle em , did the mold..
I spread them all on kitchen table ,with temp and rh in my flat they will be super dry till the morning.. I'm planing to buy 3% peroxide mix it like Jorge told and wash them , and dry them again..On kitchen table..
I will decide then will I smoke or throw them away,,But god knows how much Albanian. molded weed have I smoked last 5 years..

Thing is it was very low yield harvest , but the crinkle is super potent..
I"m devastated!!

Dont worry bud. Sometimes buds that seen fully dried still have some moisture in the middle. Then in the jars the sweat.
Hopefully the wash saves the rest

sucks man. You can't smoke mold infected weed. It has real bad effects on the lungs. It cannot be cleaned. The only way you can salvage a moldy bud it is to extract it. For the ones that don't show signs yet, I would make a dip for them and speed dry it after.

Here's my preferred method, others just use one bucket with plain water. Either way, make sure to shake em around in there real good. First dip in a 5 gallon bucket with a few tablespoons of baking soda and a squirt of lemon juice. Then a dip in a rinse bucket and lay them out on a bed with good airflow. Next day you can bag them.

I wish I could disagree with the above post, but a friend of mine got extremely sick from a fungal infection in his lungs. I trashed 2.5+ lbs, from my one run in with mold. I even went so far as to soak the buds in straight bleach, to prevent some unscrupulous dumpster-diver from reclaiming my loss.
The key is finding the source of the spoors, if possible, so you can avoid this next time. Unless the spoors were in the jars somehow, they didn't just magically appear. Check your entire environment. Could be something as simple as mold between the drip trays and pots..
In my case, my neighbor's crappy irrigation system for his yard failed, and flooded my crawl space. I had an excavated, underground room, and it became unusable after that. Hundreds of hours of work, and thousands of $ gone, to the prick next door. Can't exactly claim that on the homeowner's insurance...
Sorry this happened to you, but honestly, you should trash the whole lot.

Don't smoke that mold. Throw away, buds can be grown, but you only have one health.

I'm a idiot so I had to smoke some of last night.. Did two sputniks, I will just trow it away.. Sadly.. But I will.. Due to enviroment, Like I said they werent completly dry in jars and two days on not steering them did that..I kept last batch of weed in that closet without issues..I washed my jars immediatly, and Open the window to excange air in the room

. I'm just scared that my growing girls dont colect spores.. maybe some preventive treatment while they are in veg??

Biggest issue is that I smoked lots of mold like smelly weed.. So who knows what I collected from before... YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST. lovE YA ALL!! ❤❤❤

So the mold spores germinate usually at nodes where buds form, and they spread into and through the buds. It is possible to prevent the germination with fungicide applied with a q-tip or artists paintbrush on the stems and nodes. It is not a guarantee, but it is an added level of protection. For this sort of use I recommend Serenade organic bacterial fungicide. The best prevention however remains environmental. Even after a full cleaning of all surfaces in a grow room some spores will be present, but they cannot germinate in less than 40% RH. Keep humidity real low, and increase air flow however you can, including removing a portion of leaves or even inner and lower branches.
