Grow Mediums Mom needs some serious AUTOPOT help!

Last week my girls were 20 days old and I turned on my autopots. (Root control disks gold face down, then 2” clay pebbles, then Happy Frog/perlite in the pots) The water flowed from the res into the base of each pot just fine.

fast forward to today….

Ladies looked “limp”. I checked the res and it has not gone down. I checked the pot bases and there is water in them. Soil meter says my soil is bone dry and pots are light. Why is water not wicking? Did I do something wrong?

I turned off autopot system and hand top watered them a liter each.

I know pop says the lava pebbles are in theory not a good substrate to put at the bottom. There is a thread just below this one on setting up air domes. And there is a picture of someone who used the pebbles on the air dome probably just like you did and it looks like it worked to me.
