Monkey needs some help

Thank you for stopping in a420
I just watered before i seen this post this is what i gave her
RO water before nutes = 33ppm - 6.7ph - 69us - 69f
After nutes = 892ppm - 5.8ph - 1786us - 69f
This is what nutes i added per gal.
5ml - GH macro
2.5ml GH grow
7.5ml GH bloom
5ml GH bloom boost
5ml GH Cal/Mag
10ml root drench

the ( us ) reading on meter confuses me, is that the EC?
it looks like an upside down h with a s next to it.. i cant make my keyboard make one.

i trapped the water in the pot by plugging the hole in the side, and i am going to go back down and release the trapped solution. i will try to catch enough to get a run off reading, and i will edit this after.

i didn't forget your suggestion a420, i am just trying to get another run off reading before i flush.
I realize by plugging the hole my EC and ppm will be high from absorbing salts in the pot, i'm hoping that the ph will read with more accuracy? hope that made sense.
Monkey

Edit:
Ok, Monkey wasn't fast enough, and the thirsty girl drank it down, so i believe i will start making enough RO to do a flush, (my RO is on my sink for drinking @ 2g a day)

If you see something thats not right give me a shout
Monkey

And BTW, Clix, it is hard to tell without some good light but that looks like Potassium with Calcium as well.

I have been wondering if I was wondering about a multiple lol thank you I will explore this idea further :)

wow I got excited and typed part of that sentence twice in a row hahahaha awesome.....God I love weed :P

Hey Monkey, let me give you a little information first and then you will a better understanding of what you are doing. The uS you are referring to is called microsiemens. It is a measurement of electrical conductivity of your soil, you are correct. It is the EC of your soil. Now, I don't know much about coco so I am going to recruit some help once I post this. That being said, I have posted a ph chart for hydro and soil. Coco is considered hydro so look at the chart on the left to see the nutrient availability for ph ranges. Now, you said earlier you watered at 5.8 but your runoff was 6.0 is I am not mistaken. So, when your runoff is higher than your ingoing nutrient ph then that means your media ph is that much higher. In your case your water going in 5.8 your runoff coming out 6.0 so, ? + 5.8/2 = 6.0. Where the question mark is your media ph, so 6.2+5.8= 12 and 12/2 = 6.0 which is your runoff. So your media ph is 6.2. Let's go even bigger and maybe it is easier to understand. If you water at 5.0 and your runoff is at 6.0 then ? + 5.0/2 = 6.0 so 7.0 + 5.0 = 12/2 = 6.0 so in this case your media ph would be 7.0. Are you getting me there? So you are always looking at your runoff and calculating it against what your put in to determine what you are going to water at the next time. I always have a piece of masking tape stuck on my tent and I write down IN PH = and OUT PH =, that way the next time I water I know what adjustments to make to keep my ph in range.

Now on to the chart, if you look at the chart below you will see nutrient availability for hydro. With your media being at 6.2 you are on the absolute limit for P, you are way past the limit for K and Ca and Mn which are Potassium, Phosphorous, Calcium and Manganese. So, in order to get some nutrient uptake you are going to have to swing your ph back down into the 5.6 range and gradually let it swing back up. I hope that all makes a little more sense to you with the chart to go by.

Thanx BIG help much good karma your way as well :D

phchart.jpg Here is one more ph nutrient availability chart that might be useful also.

Thanks TD! I never saw that chart before, saving it now and hitting some rep for the help!

Thank bro, No problem it helped me when I first had a cal-mag problem. Glad it can help some others.. As a matter of fact I had to check it out because I have been ph'ing to 6.0-6.1 in my promix and getting calcium deff/lockout because I was told by House&Garden to but I am going to ph at 6.5 from now on. Also I didn't know I was supposed to be using Aqua Flakes in a soiless mix and that's why I was supposed to ph to 6.0 and I was told by shop to use the Soil bases for pro-mix and sunshine.. Thanks to the rep I now know to use their hydro nutrients which is good cause I can do DWC and soiless with the same nutrients...

Anyways I hope you get your ph problem figured out man im sure the 2 charts will help in some way..... Green karma your way
