Hey Guys,

I am about to get started on a new grow, with new gear and since I'm a new member, I figured this is the place for my journal. I have my tents set, and will be getting my exhaust set this week as well, 1 of my 2 lights will be delivered Friday. Luckily its the light for my veg tent, so I will be germinating this week. No word on the flower light but it's been 6 weeks since I ordered it. I do grow some photos sometimes, and I will be doing outdoors in the summer too, I will just keep this thread as a perpetual journal.

I have a 5x5 tent that will be used for flower and a 2x4 to start the ladies off. For my first run I am using coast of Maine soil, and when I feel needed, emerald harvest nutes. I will start them in seedling mix in solo cups, then I will move them to 5 gal pots.

Lights-
2x4- Scynce Raging Kale
5x5 Gavita 1700e

I have two 6" AC infinity fans with humidity and temp control that will sync together in the 5x5, and I will run a 4" exhaust in the veg when necessary with passive intake. This will be in my basement where I run a dehum, but I may need to run a space heater in the room to keep temps up for early life. It stays at 60 outside the tent year round.

I will post a few photos of the tents in the next couple of days, but I wanted to get a spot set and this thread laid out. I am excited to try all this new stuff and have high hopes for this run, but since its the first with both lights and the bigger tent, I want to be realistic and acknowledge that mistakes will be made.

OH, I will be running six autos to start this new set up. All night owl I believe, most from the new halloween release.

Okay, made some progress this week and my Raging Kale is delivering tomorrow. The Gavita shipped as well, probably next week I would assume.

The 4x2 is packed right now, the plants will only stay there 2-3 weeks until I put them under the gavita.

Photos as promised:
Added some perlite just because as I understand it, it’s helpful for autos to have a little extra root space. The coast of Maine stuff is nice. Based on feel and smell it’s my favorite so far I’ve tried, hopefully that translates into more buds too. The top 25% or so is seedling mix, the rest is the other soil. So far I’m running an organic grow by accident. The emerald harvest will throw that off though.

I have a 4 inch inline exhaust if I need it. And a passive 4 inch pipe for fresh air that is covered with a panty hose (no runs) to keep any bigger crap out.

Two 6 inch fans for the 5x5 with carbon filters and prefilters. Intake tube is going low, exhaust high. I will say this, I paid a premium for the AC infinity ducting, and what a pleasant surprise. This is quality stuff and I found genuine pleasure in working with it. Maybe that’s strange, but good products can be a joy.

Both fans will run off this controller which also has an RH and Temp sensor that is inside the tent.

Inside the tent, not too special right now, you can make out the sensor hanging in the center. I also have 3 smaller fans for some wind.

And the beans! These will soak overnight and I will then put them in a paper towel until the light gets set up. Plan to put them in the dirt by Saturday morning.

Nice setup!
Thanks, I've been running a vivosun and blurples for the last 4-5 years and also some outdoors. Finally settled in a house for the long haul and wanted to invest some money. I did have the smaller tent already, but with both lights and the 5x5 and accessories I'm probably in the 3-3.3k mark.

One or two good runs and it pays itself back with saving money at the dispo or other places.

:headbang::headbang:

Can’t set it up for another few hours, but very excited. I paid for the hat and got the shirt and a sticker thrown in. Rigid makes amazing off road lights and I’m very excited to test this out.

Got a call from the freight company, gavita comes Monday.

When I put the beans in the soil the Karmic Connection already had a tiny tail, maybe 20 hours after it got put in the cup. I am hoping by the end of the weekend everything is up.

I watered all the pots about 4-5 hours before I put the seeds in, so damp but not soggy.

I am setting the light at 24” and 65% power. 24 is the furthest they recommended in veg based off the documents I saw online. I am also pushing the blue spectrum to 65% for now, I will switch it back towards their standard setting of 50\50 for both as they germinate and grow a little. -Any thoughts on this is welcome, having 100% control of the spectrum is pretty neat.

All popped. Galaxy brain had helmet head and is prob 12 hours behind.

Gavita comes today !!!

Tent is steady about 81 degrees and high 60s low 70s for humidity. Will bring the Rh down when they get some roots.

If anyone is looking to order this light just a FYI: it goes freight and can’t fit on ups. As I have a tractor with forks and huge driveways, had it off the truck and in the house in less than 5 minutes. And as a side note, the scynce raging kale required a 21+ signature.

I was honestly disappointed in Gavita, no swag after spending 1600 or so with the controllers and adapter. I understand they don’t need to advertise but throw me a bone here jeez.

All set up, have two temp/rh sensors between the fans and the gavita so should be able to keep things accurate and in a good zone. Plants won’t go in here until they are 3-4 weeks old. This light is VERY bright and almost blinded me when it came on with lights in the room already on.
