High!
Copy and paste from here and there:
1/4 TEASPOON per pot, crumbled on top. Refresh every 3 months or each time you add new soil to grow.
It is OK for dunk to dry out between waterings, it won't hurt effectiveness.
Tive larvae killer we've found! For outdoor use, place Mosquito Dunks in ponds or standing water and it's active ingredient, BTI (Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies israaelenses) kills mck fly and thrip larvae for 30 days or more, avoiding annoying mature insects.
While floating they slowly release a long term biological larvacide killing the larvae before they hatch into adults. Will not effect fish, plants, people or wildlife. Use in birdbaths, flowerpots, rain barrels and gutters. Use one dunk per 100 square feet of water surface.
For indoor gardening use, Mosquito Dunks are perfect for eliminating the new variety of thrips plaguing the US as this particular bacteria eats anything in a larval stage. It may take a couple of weeks, but it does work.
Hydroponics Application: Place an appropriate portion of a Mosquito Dunk into a nylon sock (helps prevent solid debris) and drop into reservoir. If your infestation is overwhelming, after 24 hours, knead the Dunk slightly to help intensify bacteria saturation - this will shorten the lifespan of the Dunk.
Soil and Soilless Plants: Put a Mosquito Dunk into a nylon sock and soak in water for a few days - Use 1/2 of the innoculated water to thoroughly water plants. Refill container with water and continue to soak same Dunk and repeat watering process. Replace Dunk after 30 days if needed.
Comes in package of 6 Mosquito Dunks. Alternate wetting and drying will not reduce it's effectiveness. Disks may be broken into smaller pieces or secured within nylon sock to avoid being washed away.
It is not necessary to add to watering can. Just sprinkle on top of soil and when you water, it activates the dunks.
Adding Dunk Bits to water is messy. It clogs up watering cans and sticks to the sides. I already tried it that way first in my experiments in fighting the Dreaded Fugus Gnats.
take my advice just sprinkle on top of soil or put it in a mesh bag in a resevoir to keep it from getting all over and clogging lines. Dunks are designed to dry out and it does not hurt them.
It is not necessary to add to watering can. Just sprinkle on top of soil and when you water, it activates the dunks.
Then next time you water, the dunks activate again. For 3 months.
Then you gotta add another sprinkle.
The good news is that fungus gnats smoke fine when dried, you will hardly notice them at all
Don't give up! Dunks work, but if there is a large infestation, you will see them keep hatching out for several weeks. After week 4 you should have no more gnats hatching. This works, but it is NOT instant death, rather a slow, cruel torture of the little bastards.
The adults that are flying around are laying more eggs, which are hatching and removal of the adult population will help.
Use TANGLEFOOT around the edges of pots and on the bottom of the stems. This is a sticky substance that will catch crawling adults.
Hang fly paper strips all over your grow!!!!! This will catch flying adults.
OR you can get rid of adults with a pyrethrin bomb if it is not too late in flower.
It is best to get rid of them in veg!
Good luck, KEEP fighting the good fight.
Remember you have to add more dunk to all new soil brought in too! Have you got a bag open or stored nearby for them to breed in ? Clean under the pots too! I forgot to tell you that. Washing the saucers under the pots helps too!
peace!
