Lighting Ms 006 rebels.

I sent an email over to GN asking if 2X MS006 with the rebel upgrades along with a 600w hps air hood in a 5X5 tent would be overkill or not?

I've yet to be answered by them but I thought heck, why not ask you guys/gals whom use these what you think.

Planning on keeping my lumatek 600 in the middle and adding the rebels to either side of it but have them positioned to where they are hanging at an angle towards the hps.

All ideas and concerns are welcome as this will be my first journey into led. I know 2x rebels is a lot from what I've read on here but like Tim the Toolman always says "more power, ungh ungh ungh" lol what can I say..

Also what would be the cost of a rebel ms006 as all I've seen is the 100 pound per unit price additional to the ms006, so am I looking at an additional 600 pound per light? Any deals or breaks considering I am very serious about doing this after reading all the lovely grow reports with these wonderful lights?

You do not need to wait for the answer, your set up is just wonderfull.


You will be able to grow your plants with only one GN/rebel at the beginning and then add the second one and 600W at the end. You will be just fine until very late flowering, when you will wish to have a little bit more light on the edges. At least I would, I like to compensate lack of growing skills with enough of light, so that I eliminate lights as a critical factor. The idea is, if plants are not grown in the best way, at least they are illuminated. It works for me because I am greedy and want every square inch to be usefull.


Anyhow you put these 3 lights in this kind of tent, two edges will be illuminated a little bit less. But if you will grow less plants in the centre, it will be perfect. Well, it will be perfect anyway.

Thanks for stopping in man, I was thinking the same thing about having the plants in towards the centre, 3 45 litre airpots was what I was thinking about going with in there for photos, and 5 23 litre ones for my auto missions. I was trying to envision what I wanted to have as my set up for the next 5 years, and I think I may have struck the nail on its head so to speak! :xlaugh:

I've received a much anticipated email from GN, and couldn't be happier! Gotta love these guys, apparently new model 006's (sounds like a secret agent) will be out later in the year, so I'm burying this wad of dough until those bad motha suckas are available, even though I'd love to trial them now, at my own expense of course!!!

I have a 1000w hps and a chrome 270 in a 5x5.... It works... I would suggest angling the two LEDs away from the hps to get maximum light coverage all over the tent also the nice thing with the two extra LEDs is you can adjust them angle or height wise if you have a varying degree of canopy height.... Sounds like a great plan man! Won't go wrong with the lights.... And I actually would maybe just use the hid light at first with a MH in there.... As it will only be for a few weeks a cheap mh bulb would be better for the plants and there needed spectrum in vegge. Should get quite the plants in there!

The only thing that's overkill is the pot size bro all you need is 15L Airpots and you can grow 300-400g plants.

The new units sound incredible from what I've been told so don't blame you for holding out,I started saving my penny's before Xmas lol.

yeah i was speaking to dan last week when i ordered my new unit, im sure he said he was trying to release them around the same price as the current MS006, don't quote me on that though lol

Grow_King, Sure looks like an excellent set up. you should get great penetration. I would like to see some pictures when you get er all set up.

Yeah def good to see some others doing this as well, thanks for the tip on the MH, ill have to snag one up in the coming months before these new units are available, the waiting game sucks but good things come to those whom wait I suppose.

For the autos I could do the 15l airpots but my experiences the more room the better.

Especially how I grow my photos, I veg upto 3-4 months on certain strains sometimes and the 45l pots ensure my roots have plenty of room all the way through, I've had issues in 23l ones with root overcrowding which led to rot before. Just my way of staying safe, plus I LOVE seeing tree trunks in those big pots! "pher Wiggle"

Absolutely bro!!

Ill be doing a full grow journal with either auto amnesia, ogre, or the bam and I assume I will be over the top photo happy once my new toys have arrived and are all set up.

Now just the waiting game.
