Harvest & Curing My Drowning tests

Impressions to date: All 3 subjects of test have dried to my desired point and are going through the slow drop in RH for final seal and cure....All three ONYX were nice nugs with the drowed one being very swollen, as mentioned previously, but I've noticed all three dried down to mostly loose material...very little 'nugg' ...alongside was a wow afghan kush ryder that nugged and stqayed nugged when dried very unlike the onyx....so not real happy with dried product of any of the three onyx involve in test at least in bud formation and retention during dry.
The 'normal' and 'molasses' onyx went down to 65% RH after three days of step down jarring and the 'drowned' onyx took a couple more days.
Tested product from 'norm' and 'mol'....vaping is my main intake method and both were smooth with the mol being tastier...when I combusted, the 'norm' was harshier as expected...both showed promise when properly cured...
The drowned Onyx had a smooth and much less harshness combusting.
Observations will continue as curing goes on...As mentioned was not happy with the major shrinkage & change of the bud structure of all onyx even tho all had firm buds when clipped....

This is very interesting. I will be following along. Thanks for all the info.

With the bud structure being so loose on the 3 onyx, it's got me checking things that may be the cause unless this is just how onyx does...they are my first 3 ever and I have a 4th at about 30 days now..but about 30 more seeds to put into rotation...but they have to prove themselves in the next round to keep a slot in my schedule...My bulb only has approx 3000 hours on it and a wos coffee ryder grew beside the onyx, under the same light, same nutes, same everything and is a very nice thick nugg...With all that being said, I do like the high I got with onyx and I'm sure it's gonna be pretty good when cure is done...

Interesting result..

I am curious how you will like the method, when you use it on some thing that finishes more to your liking.

Well, I got into the jars to see just what my impressions are at this point...the molasses added onyx has the best flavor so far with the 'drowned' one smelling a bit stronger than the others....all taste good......Yeah, I'd prob do this again...figure an easier way to dunk a babe in the tent without making too much mess....

Maybe I'll start "baptizing" my ladies to see how it works... I'm surprised the drowned one smells stronger... Very interesting... :bong:

Ya know...got to thinking of all the various small things that make up a grow and all the little add on tricks we all love to use 'just to see'....being home 24/7 unless out doing errands, these little tricks does keep ones mind busy keeping up with the nuances that seem to abound during all projects. As these three small tests have continued, the molasses onyx is the one that kinda stands out at this point....although all three are nice...still wanna withhold final observations for another week or so...let'em get cured a bit more....
One thing I noticed....the drowned one dried slower as expected....but dropped in RH faster during jarring & sacking sequence I go through to obtain sealing RH....and had less dramatic swings during process....will see if this means anything in end result.

Observations on the drowning test continue......been chipping some nugg pieces outta all three subjects involved in the test....visiting the same friends I toke with occasionally...had some interesting results outta fellow long time tokers...without actually telling anyone which little bag was which, we partook the herb vaping in a extreme Q, bag mostly but also some 'power hits', combusted several times with one our fav 'lung testing' bottle methods.....
EVERY time, EVERY party. EVERY fellow toker.... remarked in some way about how good the "drowned" Onyx was in potency whereas the same thing went for the molasses onyx in taste....
So.....this was only 3 days of "drowning"...my fellow tokers reflections have proven to me it is a worthy little something to do to your ladies the last few days....I'll def figure a way to do this without making a damn mess...seems to be worth it....

When you say drowning, do you mean just the rootball or the entire plant?
