Indoor My ETD saga

I was glancing back through the posts here and realized a couple things. First, I have been fairly disjointed in my writings and thoughts here so far. Second, apparently I have been vaping way to much while on the computer. Which would explain the issue previously noted.

So let me set the expectation for the next few months.
Obviously, I will need seed stock to begin with, so initially I will be making a seed run and possibly several seed runs with different parents to ensure larger genetic diversity. I have ET's that are just days old now that will be pollinated if a male shows up. These will be the begining of the process. I will also be dropping some additional ET seeds in another week or so, for the next tent grow along with some blueberry strains. But any time ET's are in the ground they will be fair game for breeding programs.

So welcome and come along for the ride.

You are on a mission man. I'm gonna hitch a ride. I really like the ETD for all around smoke. It's a really smooth tasty smoke. I've only grown 1 out. I started 2 but one was a male and I'm not quite ready for breeding yet. I'm interested to follow along and see what you come up with.

Is anyone really ready for breeding the first time they do it. For me it was just a whim the first time I planted the ET's. I had a couple of males and decided to harvest a little pollen and just see what happened. From that attempt on just 3 or 4 small buds down low on the plant I got 72 seeds. When you've never grown before and always purchased your herb, seeing those seeds was a very freeing moment. As was the day I cut down a 3' tall photo clone just because I no longer wanted it around. You tend to feel differently because now you are in control of your supply in all aspects. Quality, quantity, characteristics, etc are all under your control. You are able to make decisions based on wants not needs. Since I currently have 8 more auto plants in the tent moving toward a finish in the next few weeks, and 3 Photo's starting a veg in the closet as well as 4 more ET's that I started, I am obviously not worried about supply. I can do as I please as long as I can keep my wife supplied with what she wants.

So I am re-evaluating the direction I will take in the future. And, as you noted, the ET is a great smoke as is, so why not make it better.

Point taken. I have made a few accidental seeds just not quite ready to do it on purpose yet. I want to grow a few more strains and just see what's out there.

Oh I fully understand. I have been on a seed aquisition rampage for months now. This grow had 4 strains, my next auto grow will have at least 3 different strains plus the ET's, a couple of blueberry strains and a purple strain.and that still leaves me like a dozen strains that I have seeds for but haven't been able to grow yet. Not to mention the remainder of the seeds from the strains that I have grown. Time is the one thing we can not control, and it's the one thing that we never have enough of.

Quick update. the babies are still doing well, except for the 4th one again. It popped and you could see the green little shoot in the rockwool but it has still not popped its head up and straightened out. If this little guy doesn't get right soon I may just have 3 ETs again. I need to get the triplets into pots so the roots can kick it. So today I will pot them and wait on #4, If it doesn't make it I will just chuck the cube and start 2 new ones. 2 is always better than 1 anyways.

UPDATE: ET baby #4 is finally standing, so I have 4 babies to go to soil. I will drop more soon, because I think the tent will get emptied out in the next 2 weeks of the existing stock. WOO HOO harvest, but that's another thread.

More relevant here is the fact that I transfered the buds from the first ET cut at 55 days to jar today. As expected the yield is small, the buds just did not fill in as they would have with more time. Very airey/wispey. After 3 days of bag drying the color is still predominantly green with some orange pistils. not alot of visible resin crystals but the buds are sticky when squeezed. I have ground up 1 bud and am vaping that now. The effect is slower than I expected but good nonetheless. A little weaker in intensity than my previous ET's, but again, harvested early. It is a very manageable effect for daytime tasks. I would consider harvesting on this time frame in the future for effect when needed.

The second ET will be cut at 65 days which is next fri. It was a little larger in stature and has much stiffer buds already. For the next week it will be getting bubbled water with BioBud only. So let's see what happens.
I'll get weight on the little one shortly and post here.

my first seed order had 3 reg strains of auto's just for this purpose. my first attempt wound up all being female, a good problem to have, but not the desired result's as far as seed making. if 1 of the Triangle Dragons I've got going turns male, or if they both do, i'll harvest the pollen and try and make seed's with what I have growing. now that I made plans for a male I'll get 2 females lol

Welcome elsamurai. I really didn't ever intend to breed but figured WTF, this is just to easy. Famous last words. And with that comment, update and pics. Here I went and bregged this morning that #4 was standing and at this afternoons check it is dying. Don't know what the issue is but I will move on with the other 3. They will go into dirt tomorrow, and I will start the next batch.

The first four pics are the remaining 2 ET's in the current grow, and obviously the last is the babies, see that poor little dying dragon. Breaks my heart that it will never grace the insides of my vaporizer.
