Lighting My first-ever Autocob grow! (HSO Blue Dream x2)

Quick update, no pics at the moment.

Took a peek at some of the buds with my jeweler's loupe tonight at lights-on. I'm still getting the hang of getting a solid look at the trichs and being able to determine clear vs. cloudy vs. amber, but to my relatively untrained eye there appeared to be a more or less even mix of clear & cloudy.

SO! How I'm proceeding is:

Tonight she gets no feed. I want her to use up as much of the full strength nutes in the reservoir as possible overnight, and tomorrow I'll start her on a 1/4 strength feeding until this Saturday to really make her start using up anything she's got stored. That'll take us to Day 65. For the next three days she'll get plain water, then meet the blade. :headbang:

More pics soon!

Time for a couple pics!

She started her last gallon of nutes tonight. This gallon's got 1.25g of Maxibloom and 8ml of CALiMAGic. No Armor Si, no Mammoth P. I haven't noticed much in the way of bud development/swelling for the past week or so, so I think she's pretty much done. Gonna finish up this gallon, then flush with another gallon of plain water and that'll be all she wrote.

I'm dying to do a final defoliation & trim up on this girlie - I'm gonna go out on a limb and estimate she'll yield 3/4-1 oz dried. If things had gone a little smoother I can easily see this plant doing 2.5-3oz easy and I wouldn't rule out running her again one day. There's a lot of popcorn-looking stuff on the interior of the plant, but it's all pretty freakin' dense and frosty, so I'm not bummed at all. :smoking:

Stay tuned!

Alrighty! Here we are at the beginning of Day 65. She got her last feed of the 1/4 strength nutes. For the past three days I've been getting quite a bit of run-off when I water her. She's been steady at between 24-28 oz a day for awhile with very little excess draining through. The past couple days I've been getting easily 2-3 times as much run-off. She doesn't appear to be eating her lower leaves, but neither did my first plant so I can only assume the extra water means she's simply starting to wind down.

Tonight and Sunday she'll get plain PH'd water, then down she comes. I *might* let her go a few more days with nothing in order to let her use up whatever's left in the res, but that mostly depends on how much I feel like dealing with the hassle of a bucket full of wet Growstone after trimming her all up.

Pics!

Very pretty colors to the buds! Looks like you'll have a good harvest soon. Make sure to do a smoke report!

Thanks man. It's on my list to grow again - I don't even think the bit of LST I did was necessary. She's only about 16" high, and from what I can tell from the few other grow journals I found, that seems to be about standard for the strain. Not a *ton* of bud, but the colas are really nice and dense and she smells great. Kinda curious to run a handful in a mini-SOG. Will definitely do a smoke report once she's ready.

What're you working on now?

I like the bud structure it's all just big fat colas looks awesome. Sea of green would be awesome, I'm trying that in my next grow. These cobs have even spread from corner to corner in my tent so I think it would work out great. I'm going to try 9 1 gallon pots keep them small and see what happens. Right now I'm doing grape crinkles by mephisto.

Yeah, should be a nice easy trim. I wish all the popcorn-looking stuff on the interior had stretched & fattened up more, but even though it's all just smaller buds, I still wouldn't call them popcorn. I'll try to get some pics of them for my next post in a few days - they're all nice and dense like the stuff higher up on the colas. This was my first time topping a plant, and I'm sold. Even with the smaller pheno, it definitely kept the plant small and helped it branch and I didn't notice any slow down in growth at all. Highly recommended.

Do you have a journal for the Crinkle? I've got some Double Grape coming that I'm *very* psyched to run. I hear excellent things about Mephisto's Grape strains in general.

I don't mind popcorn as I usually try to make some hash on each harvest even tho I make the shittiest version it's also the easiest and gets me ripped. I just do ISO hash for the simplicity, probably not the best way but it works for me. I have a journal on here in the cob section. I think I start week 7 tomorrow just waiting for them to plump up now. I'm very impressed with mephisto so far, this grape crinkle would be an extractionists dream, most fan leaves are completely covered in frost.
