New Grower My first grow ever!

You are right there, her mom's neighbor used to give us a pint or two every year but he got too old to make it anymore =( Now we have to go with store bought stuff, which is still better than mrs.butterworths, but does not compare with knowing someone who makes good stuff.

this is the beginning of the end my friend. haha.

those plants are going to be sexy -- this progress should be fun.

congrats on all the sprouts.

FACT!! I started making my own with my pa dukes and JM back 5 years ago or so. I remember the first taste of the real deal... a truly life-altering experience, because it cemented the fact that I would be making my own every year until I die. :smokebuds:

Thanks Herbal! I am so giddy right now with all the new toys I want to get too. My wife is oddly supportive of my new hobby too which makes getting toys more often a little easier.

The best Maple Syrup in the world comes from Vermont! End.of.story.

Mmm, Now I want me some pancakes!

H2O or no??

I know that I should be watering based on weight of the planters, but I am still learning what they feel like so it is kinda hard. I have these jovial seedlings under 400w of HPS for 20 hours a day in Pro Mix BX. They were last watered 2 days and 12 hours ago with just some pHed water. Are there any physical signs on the plants that I could also look for to indicate that they want something to drink. I let them drain very well after the watering, and the temp is 77F during the lights on and 70F lights off. The RH is at 50% lights on, I will go down and take a pic of the tent and ladies in a little bit if you think it needed. I am just trying to avoid talking to my ladies too much and watering too much. In a couple weeks feeding too much will be added to that list! lol lol lol

Thanks for putting up with an early rant! o7m8!

I think that you can probably talk its leaf off and it will be okay as long as your not messing with the environment. It does seem like the watering thing can be overly tricky for how simple it is. Just remember that dry dirt is really light! The first time that you pick it up and feel just how light your dirt can be without any water you will have an  kinda moment. It is ridiculously light compared to what i am sure that you are expecting. Unfortunately as near as i can tell over and underwatering have some pretty similiar traits

Day 8
Gave them all a good drink of just water at 6.8, my runoff was 6.3 would that mean my soil was or is 5.8 if my math is right. Should I panic with the soil ph being so low? The plants look nice, A couple have a color like a dark lime, and the others are a darker green. I will post some pics in the morning of them and see what you think. Anywho I am going to crash I will post pictures in the morning!

A maturing plant will drink a lot more than one still still vegging. Bigger root mass pulling in more water dries the soil out faster. From about week 5 till finish a 3 gallon pot of BX under a 400 watt HPS, temp at 77 and RH at 50% will probably need water every 3-4 days. A 3 week old plant under the same conditions might go 8-10 days.

You're not too far off. Next feeding go in a little higher, say at 7 or 7.2 and you should be okay.
