That big cola green lady in the above picture turned pinkish/red in the end of flower...
Was beautiful...

Finally I decided to cave and go get a ph tester kit from my local shop. Soo...today i mixed up a batch of my nutrients in a one gallon jug and I couldnt believe what I saw! I use distilled water and tested the ph before I put the nutrients in and it was right around 6.3-6.6! Sounds good, but once I put the Cal Mag and Pure Blend Bloom in there it dropped like crazy. Fell all the way to below 4.0... the color was showing up RED!
The thing is I have already fed this to my plant before and im surprised that it didn't just kill over and die. Maybe it is because i bubble the water or something...but Im glad that I bought the tester for sure. Added about 10 drops of PH up to the solution and that brought the ph right around 6.5! Dont know if anyone else uses this combo of nutes... but a ph tester is definitely warranted if so.
I am still currently bubbling my water and plan to administer to the plants tonight just before they wake up.

Is there something special that you have to do at a certain point during the grow to see the purple jems go purple? Or is it just natural with good care? Will anything help with this process?
No Bro..the colours in JEM are Not cold dependant.
No Special care needed.

PH testing and the bubbling are now my favourite Kit...
I'd buy them over ferts..
coz if your PH isn't right..they won't use the ferts properly anyway.

Speed & Safety with them...

But the green phenotype JEM's that I've had will get purple calyxes when in colder weather around 60-70 F...

When I put the green JEM's back to 75-85 F they always revert back to green, I think that's the Afghan genetics at work but like Mossy says when you get a purple phenotype JEM it is just pure beautiful purple no matter what you do...

I'm just saying that even with a green Phenotyope Mossy's JEM the purple can be induced...

I love running some fresh greens through my sharpstone as well.
Thanks for the replies wiz and nc!

Well it seems I might have a problem. Is it possible to spill something and burn a hole through a leaf. Theres also a hole there. Neem, Nutrient Solution maybe... But im not sure if that happened or not. Also could it be possible if I accidentally stuck my hand in one of those yellow sticky traps and unknowingly rubbed my hand on the leaves. Ive stuck my hand in those a couple of times. Those are the only things I can think of that I could've done.
Wanna catch the problem now if there is one!!!

Any help please?
Not the best of pics srry!

P.S. She is 28 today! And I havent seen any bugs and sprayed neem 2 days ago as preventative. This was seen today, and only on this leaf.

sure that isn't from growth. It almost resembles malformation from ph imbalances causing nutrient lockout.

I JM will hit this soon he's the plant Dr.

Oh really...yea I did just give it a watering with nutes the other day. But ph of the solution was 6.5. Can it get into the soil and once there fluctuate? I didnt test runnoff as I didnt feel it was necessary since i tested just before adding the water. My soil ph meter doesnt work..or I havent figured how to make it work.

Jayboy, I neglected to mention that the ph testing kits that use the color bands are only good for testing clear liquid. Any color in the liquid being tested affects the test results, making them inaccurate. They're way better than nothing but at some point, maybe you'll be able to scrape the $20 bucks up to get a meter. I'm not being sarcastic. When I became disabled I learned the real value of money. I know how much even $10 can be when you don't have it. Hang in there, bro.

Maybe someone on the site can give you an idea as to how the nutes you're using affect ph levels. At least you will be able to control the starting point with the test kit. :peace:
