jayboy, that setup should do nicely for 6-12 plants. I have 6-27w 6500k cfl's, over 12 seedlings, and the they really seem to like it.

After my seeds sprouted, I put them within a couple inches of the cfl. My plants have seemed to like being close like that. It's kinda neat how you can place the bulbs most anywhere you like. That little feature could come in handy.

Looks great, jayboy!

Nice... thanks joe! Yea I actually bought 8 of these bulbs in case I need a lil more light later.
But seems as if thats just overkill for the little amount of plants I have.

Jay That jem is looking nice mate!

The calyxes look like they are starting to swell, i think 2 weeks will put it close!

If you haven't started to flush it yet, nows the time.

The words I've waiting to hear...thanks bailer! I just fed two days ago but will start with nothing but water from here out. Should I do like 1.5 times water through it the first time since I just fed her nice amount of nutes. and then just water when she gets dried a lil from then on out? Do ppl still give molasses while final flushing?

If i chop off a lil nug on my plant how do I quick dry it for sampling? Microwave, Oven, etc...

Thanks Thai...after second thought I can wait until atleast after a short hang dry period. Was thinking about trying the cold waterings to get her a little more purple. But after doing a lot of reading on the subject, it seems there is no real truth to this method. Will keep her the way she is.

jayboy to JEMman. i like it! Had me confused at first lol. I've read up on this purple business myself as i was curious if you could bring more purple out of a strain after getting a bag of Barney. Barney is not it's official name, but it's mostly purple, so purple i had to snap some pictures of it and i wondered how in the hell can bud get this purple?

anyways, this article explains how the plant goes into shock using ice cubes the last few weeks of flower, inducing a deep sleep bringing out the purple. Have you read this one already? http://www.cannabis-seeds.edu.pl/15...arijuana-cannabis-to-turn-purple-in-flowering.

Here's some pictures of "Barney", the most purple dank ive ever seen! :toke:

lol...yea I figured it was time I grow up a little! But thanks alot for the link. I hadn't heard about putting the ice cubes on top of the soil at all. Seems you showed me this just in time as I only have about 3 waterings left. I take it you must need quite a lot of ice cubes to actually water the plant good. I wonder can I just put the ice in some cold water and water with that and then just let the ice sit there? I think im pretty much maxed out yield wise anyway so im going to give it a shot.

A couple of quick pics I took during the first watering of my flush... The middle cola has become a pretty fat little thing:D

You also can just let the temperature in the cab to drop about 10 degrees and purple will come out...

yeah shes looking mighty chubby there! I'm assuming if you make some ice water, it would be jst as effective as putting ice cubes on the soil. I guess just make sure you don't wait too long after the ice melts to water so that the water stays nice and cold. The point of the ice cubes is to imitate cold rain if the plants were outside. A portable air conditionor for the night time might do you well for future grows if you really want to continue to bring the purple out of your girls. Your plants are looking great JEMman! Just a couple more weeks and you'll be reaping the rewards of your hard work
