Hi, I got my hands on an old wardrobe...the dimensions are 53 inches high, 40 wide and 16 deep....so plenty of room to play around with!
A little bit of info on the wardrobe in case it helps. It's bug free (I sprayed it down), it has a shelf at the top with about 7 or 8 inches of height to work with (the dimensions given don't include it as it could be handy to store things and run wires through.

I live at home so the setup has to be as stealthy and inconspicuous as possible.
The wardrobe itself, luckily enough, has a lock on the door..so that helps with nosy people rooting through everything if I forget to lock my door.

So far, this is my plan, I've been reading non-stop for days now, it's time to here it from you guys yourselves if I've learned anything..

Feel free to correct me if something is wrong, I want to get this right:tiphat:

Soil: http://www.dublinindoorgardening.com/products/Bio-Bizz-Light-mix.html looks good to me! I might be able to find it cheaper locally, so if I can, I will.

Nutrients: http://www.dublinindoorgardening.com/products/Bio-Bizz-Bio%2dBloom-500-ml.html I've read about people using BioBizz on here with good results, will this suffice?

Lights: http://www.dublinindoorgardening.com/products/Ecolights{47}-Envirolights-125-watt-Blue.html (while the plants are growing) and then this for the flowering stage http://www.dublinindoorgardening.com/products/Ecolights{47}-Envirolights-125-watt-Red.html and a reflector http://www.dublinindoorgardening.com/products/Plug-and-Grow-CFL-reflector-single.html I'm not sure if they'll be strong enough. Please advise!
I keep reptiles as pets so my room is normally pretty hot at around 22Degrees (or mid 70's for the Americans!) which I've heard is a good range for MJ to grow in.

Misc: http://www.dublinindoorgardening.com/products/Mylar-(Silver{47}White)-per-meter.html this stuff is a necessity, right?

Seeds: Probably the most important part...
I'm stuck between this http://www.greenhouseseeds.nl/shop/green-o-matic-feminised.html and this http://www.greenhouseseeds.nl/shop/nl-automatic.html
If anyone would like to recommend a different strain then go ahead! I'm hoping one plant at a time will serve me well, this is just for myself and a friend to have a stash that hasn't been sprayed/laced in glass...the stuff I've been offered...

I'm not sure what size pots to use, for my first grow I used one pot for the whole grow...(a decent size one) the plant was a ''big bang autoflowering'' and it reached about 20'' before I chopped it down. Does that seem right?

Odor control....I don't know why but I don't like the idea of a carbon filter, the wardrobe will be in my room so I sort of need it to look as normal as possible, ducting and fans might not go down so well.

I was thinking of getting an ionizer and placing it near the wardrobe and getting some ONA blocks and putting them outside my room to remove any smells that manage to escape. (I've read they can ruin the taste of the bud so I won't be putting them near my plants, has anyone had a similar experience?)

I think that's it for now, please let me know your thoughts on this plan. Peace :peace:

Just a thought, if anyone would like a snap of the wardrobe to help them visualize it better, that can be arranged!

Sounds like you got a good plan! Pics are always good so throw one up if you got it. The lights you picked should work well for you. I use a similar cfl for my veg cycle and it works great. Carbon filters are not necessary if you grow the right strains. I have a closet filled with autos and photos with no filter or outside ventilation and my house never smells like weed. (unless I just smoked lol)
Kush van stitch is a plant I highly recommend. Good luck

If your doing one plant at a time look for a good yielding strain. Look at dutch passions "think different", or the Auto Seeds "berry ryder"

OR! A good old Nirvana Northern Light you cant go wrong with. This one took me 81 days to harvest and got 606g wet. Very suitable for beginners and a very forgiving strain.

Hi J1192 A carbon filter and a fan are a good idea for a couple of reasons.
  • In order for plants to grow well the air in your cupboard needs constant replacement so your plant have a source of fresh CO2.
  • it will also help you control humidity which combined with a lack of fresh air can lead to moldy buds
  • Security - if your plant start stinking out your house,it wont matter if your worried about someone seeing a fan, all they will have to do is follow thier nose.
  • Keeping temperature under control, lights produce heat & with ambient temps @ 22C and your lamp glowing temps in your wardrobe are likely get too high.
  • In my opinion ioniser aren't very good, but will have some odor neutralising affect.
For myself the most important factor in any grow is security, take all precautions to reduce anyone finding out i.e no odd smells or unusally bright light seen from outside & never tell anyone including friends that you're growing (loose lips sink ships).

I made a box for my fan filled with insulation to reduce fan noise. This accoustic box sits in a cardboard box on top of my wardrobe, noone would ever know it's a fan in there, just looks like a cardboard box.

I have grown Greenhouse seeds and had good results with SuperCritical Auto which can get to 120cm,but now I am now going for auto's which get to around 60cm-80cm.

The Big Bang is my memory serves me correctly is the Greenhouse variety that grows wider than she is tall (Am I right?) if so sounds ok to me.

Pictures are always helpful as it show exactly what you have and allows people to give you the advice you need that relates to your grow space. (plus who doesn't like a nice pic especially when in bud!)

Pictures will also allow others to determine the health of your plant and also provide you with and additional grow advice which you might require.

All in all you have already done the right thing by becoming a member of AFN. There are many expirienced growers here, always happy to give someone a hand.
If there is one thing I have noticed is AFN is all about Family and friendlyness, there sure to be lots advice when you need it.

One last thing if you haven't already introduced yourself, do it now! It lets people know your here and it's a great way of getting to know new people who would love to help you with your grow.

Peace and good luck

Wow! Huge thanks for all the replies! I appreciate all the input! I'll get a few pictures up soon so!

@evol, thanks very much for the reply! I looked up that strain and the first result was a review from you, needless to say I've already found a vendor and it'll be the first one I grow!

@kushaddict, thank you! I was looking at brainstorm and think different from Dutch Passion and the only thing that would put me off them is the strength of the smell, how strong is it? High yield and odor are what interest me most...that pic of the NL is just incredible! :o what a result!

@growerz, thanks for the well thought out reply man, super appreciate it! Security is my biggest factor, I live in a rural area so I don't have to worry about nosy neighbors..just nosy farmers who don't miss a beat. lmao I have blackout blinds installed since last week and I'll keep 'em down as much as possible so if any light happens to get through nobody will even see, but I'll try get that mylar shit all over the inside so it doesn't let anything out, I think I'll go with a decent ionizer, this is the particular one I was looking at http://www.heavenfresh.ie/index.php/air-purifiers/hf-210uv the price is a bit shocking but I'm willing to spend it...that and some ona blocks should block the smell of the likes of northern lights, I remember my big bang only gave off a smell if you touched her..it was the strongest, sweetest smell I've ever...smelled..so if there's other strains like that then that's what I'll go for :) luckily I've got a pretty low tolerance so I'd rather have slightly 'weaker' stuff than some of the mental medical strains you read about in Cali....you're correct about the big bang dude, short and fat she was!

Don't worry about the pictures man :) there'll be plenty! speaking of I'll get some of the wardrobe.

Finally, photos!

Edit: they'll be back soon
EDIT: Back! Thanks UrbanFarmer!

I looked into the carbon filters and I might as well just get it and an ona block to fu*k
This is the cheapest one I could find...(IKR), I don't mind spending this kinda money cos if it flops lesson learned, if it does a good job then I'll upgrade when I get a bit more confident about it all...http://www.ebay.ie/itm/4-Premium-Pr...arden_PlantsSeedsBulbs_JN&hash=item27d50a53fd the fan might be a little too small.
Am I right in thinking the ducting should be hanging out a window while the filter is on? I'll just stick an ona block at the end of it to kill off anything left behind!
Edit: Had a hickup with pics, will get them up again in a bit for anyone curious
