Lighting My most expensive light yet

Smo, I know you are a perfectionist. I know that quality control is everything to you. I know you worry about buiding only the very best.

Send it here and I will torture test it :crying:

your build quality and designs are really nice. you can bet that thing will throw a lot of soft shadows and no dark spots in the top 16 inches. Probably even deeper.
It's funny to read. My OCD went a little haywire.

That thing is sexy smo.... Love it...
You get that screen up and running ? Nice to have an exact watt measurement...
Cheers to your big chandelier....
I ordered 2 today from amazon. I'm also making changes to the light. It's not quite right yet. It's being hung tomorrow as long as it fits between my fans finished or not. Round 2 on the grow room overhaul starts and I'll need it up.

Awesome @BigSm0 :slap: well put together sir, a really smart job. Definitely setting the bar high with this build... I know you said they are expensive to build and ship but people will pay for a quilty light like that... I no a few with deep pockets in the UK who would.
Are those holders for the heat sinks from the canopy 10 plans, I'm slowly getting my next light together and this is one of the way I was think of using. Got some other ideas but these look to be an easy option.
Can't wait to see her in action :pass:

Two things I'd like to say here
First: The more I learn about cobs, both through reading and firsthand experience, the more I appreciate and respect @BigSm0 's work with these lights and the community here.
Second: I agree with @Slater if these lights were available they would find buyers. Name your price  That rig is going to produce some monsters.

The brackets were the biggest hold up. I sent the specs to a close friend who operates this type of equipment. He took his time but got the perfect brackets for the light. Before the AutoCob I had a plan to make 80/20 extrusion frames to spec and ship them with the brackets and hardware. I just invisioned thousands in material with a slow turnaround. I do plan on doing custom lights like this but not so big in the future. Quality stuff not just angle aluminum.

I really appreciate that bro. Unfortunately I haven't put as much time in here lately but did live on the DIY section helping it get up to speed. As you and slater mentioned quality is definitely a concern for some. It's nice to build and show off what a little extra time and effort can accomplish.

I thought something else today. My space is 4x12 roughly and this light covers 4x6 so I would need or could use 2 more that were 3x4 or another one of these to fill the whole space. I may just do 2 smaller versions of 4 cobs each

I need one of these 4 cob setups that you speak of lol. No matter what I am going to have to get at least one and if budget allows two autocobs, I have extended my grow space by about 4x4 maybe. Now I have enough light but the way everything sits I cant put my CMH's where I want them so I am going to need the versatility of a small ass light that is bright and I can move around easily. I will be getting it/them in the next week or so. They seem to be the way to grow!

I have a few spots set up with them and what's nice is exactly what you said. Taking it down, setting it up and adding where you need more. It may not be in use for some time but quickly finds a home. The list of growers that pulled high yields from a single cob is growing too. Being able to stick it the exact spot and height has such a huge advantage. Inverse square law stuff. Light at distance and how it's intensity rapidly declines. Adjustable cobs don't suffer nearly as much, especially when they are set up differently across different sized plants .
