Extraction My mum has cancer. Making oil, advice and help please.

Decarbing is going to increase the THC content in your material which may not be desired.
If you do wish to decarb, 240°F for 45 minutes to 1 hour for veg material is how I do it with great results.
I'd suggest looking into Juicing cannabis.
Little to no psychoactive effects.

I have had cancer, and used pot to help with it.

THC is not the only thing that is good for treating cancer. CBD is also good, and my understanding is that when you decarb, you lose some CBD.

In any case, the dose is so high, I felt like I was pickling my brain. So I started using Indica and medical strains that had less THC and more CBD.

I never, ever, decarb.

For my taste, nothing covers up the taste of pot better than chocolate. I usually make brownies. You can also try putting it in dinner.
Good luck with your Mom, people do beat it all the time. I had a friend whose Doc said she prob wouldn't make it, but she did.
Hang in there.

Btw, if you are putting it in food, you can do a coconut oil extraction in a crockpot. Don't let it boil. I find that works really, really well. If you want it stronger, do an extraction with a generous amount of oil. Then do another extraction with fresh pot using that same oil. The one time I did that, the first time I used it I got so stoned I thought I was sick.

Again, good luck.

@Arpo I am so sorry to hear of your mums diagnosis. We have been dealing with the devastating effects of cancer with my mum over the past two years, so I can relate. High CBD as well as THC strains are definitely something to look into. Looks like you have the oil method going well, there is a way to reduce the psychoactive effects and I'm sure someone will point you in that direction. De-carbing will not get rid of the high, it actually makes the THC more available.

Hope this helps, sending a big bunch of :karmacloud::karmacloud::karmacloud::karmacloud: to you and your family brother.

Thanks people, masses of info from you all. Thanks. Off to work soon so I will get back to reading tonight when I get back in. The cannabis I'm using is around 20% THC and 1.2% CBD may be a bit higher now as I have been breeding and growing my own strains. I crossed a strawberry haze with a heavy indica a few years ago, very good weed, I'm on my 3rd generation now, I only breed seeds in summer as I get more than enough seeds to last me a year. Work time. Later Guys, you all rock:)

Don't have any advice to offer, just wanted to say i hope your mum stays as well as she can. Sounds great what you're trying to do for her.
Ive just lost my mum to lung cancer. Tried over the 18 months since she was diagnosed, to chat about cannabis oil , but she didn't want to hear any of it, neither did my dad-he reads the Daily Mail, think cannabis is the same as Crystal Meth. You cant force someone to take something.

Really wish her well though.

Thanks @eighthdimension for your kind thoughts. It must be hard seeing stuff like this when you have lost your own mum, I'm so sorry. My dad is exactly the same, reads the mail and express and thinks cannabis is 'bad drugs'.

Mums not been to bad the last few days, she's been sleepy a lot but not sure if thats the RSO or the cancer. She's scared and has a few weepy moments but apart from that she's holding up quite well. She's not to impressed with having to have her 2nd dose of chemo on the 24th Dec but she wants to try both chemo and cannabis, first dose on 9th dec.

Chat to later on matey take care bro. School run:(

Update on mother.

Yesterday my mum got the results of her scan. The massive tumor in her bowel HAS NOT grown any more in the last couple of months which is good, whats not so good is she now has a couple of tumors on her liver and the cancer has spread to her lungs. She starts the chemo today, she had her lines put in yesterday. To say that I'm am not the happiest teddy around at the moment is an understatement, I'm gutted.

Mum was asking if RSO is considered a herbal remedy as they were asking her at the hospital as some 'treatments' can effect the chemo. Does she tell them or not. I'm at a loss at the moment as to what to do, say or try any more. I've read that RSO isn't very effective on secondry cancer which has spread to mum's lungs, is this correct?

How is Mum doing?
Talking to the doctors about cannabis treatments is tricky...some are ok with it - some not. Maybe you can talk to them and see what they say.
Have you seen Renaissance Redneck's thread? https://www.autoflower.org/threads/redneck-revival-chicken-free-zone.47339/
His doctors are on board with taking RSO during chemotherapy.

Hi there @Root, Mums not so great, the chemo is knocking the stuffing right out of her. She tired a lot and feels sick all the time. She has her good moments but they don't last for long. She is eating little but often, my dad is cooking for her but I also take her her supper and a trifle for after. Trifle seems to be a must for her at the moment, no arguments here.
Mums not back until the 24th for the next session of chemo and she mentioned that she may talk to the doc's then.
I'm going to have a look at Redneck's thread now.
Thanks Root
