Photography My photos are too big to upload

Hey guys,

First off I am a bit of a luddite I purchased a Nikon D3300 last week and have been taking some snaps of my current grow. I just tried to post pics on my journal and the files are too big to upload. The size of the image is 3.5MB.

How can I upload these pics without resizing and losing quality?

I was using a Nikon 1 before and never encountered this problem.

Sorry if this seems a really obvious question.

I'm having a hard time getting photos up on Site for my grow journal as well Im not sure how to make image smaller so AFN will accept it

What program are you using to get your files onto computer?...lots of programs will have "save for web" . also make sure your not loading a RAW files. But if you are saving them, they should convert to jpegs.

I forget what the system puts on size limitations, but best thing to do is go into a photo editor, like Paint, and reduce the size.... I'm not a tech-boy either, but the camera takes 2-3MB pics at lower res' setting,.. I end up reducing size down to 30%, saving as jpeg's, and end up with pic's in the manageable KB range with plenty good resolution,..
