I've been reading that weed over 4 months old does not need to be decarbed prior to any use due to having been decarbed by time and the cure ... would anyone care to weigh in on this thought ... ?

Thanks ... :coffee:

These links may be of some help.

My opinion is if you need to make "edibles" you need to decarb. No matter if the bud has been cured for months. Carboxylation is the conversion of THC-A and acid to TCH. This carboxylation of the THC-A is necessary for your body's absorption of all the canna goodies.
Awesome info bro!!

Chester I have a question. I have been saving my roaches and was thinking that this didn't need to be decarbed since the pot has already been heated (smoked), isn't that enough? I save the stuff for when I run out or really want to destroy my lungs. I must have about a quarter pound of the crap by now. I was going to stop at George Washingtons' distillery and get a gallon of the moonshine they make in his old grist mill. Somehow it just seem right to make my first tinc with it.

Damn you're hard core ... I've noticed that carrying weed around in my car where it gets well over 100* for much of the day doesn't seem to hurt it for vaping or smoking ... not sure how long this can be pushed but I've been carrying a pinch for vaping for at least the last two weeks and it doesn't seem to be degraded at all .... I suspect as I approach a month I'll see a change ... maybe temps will cool before then or I can stop living out of my car ... those roaches are probably decarbed and full of oil but I'm not sure I'd want to ingest anything made out of them ... could be delicious on a little French Vanilla as a topping ... let me know how it tastes or if it gets you off ...
