When my beans are germinated and ready to plant, is it better to just put them in my large pots and grow them fully in one pot size? Or is that just a nice to have thing that is possible if it works for the grower?

The reason I ask is I think all the journals I have looked at seem to do this. Seeds in to the pot and no transplants. But I would like to work with the seedlings in a smaller space at first, before I move to large 5 to 7 gallon pots. I want to have a smaller footprint floorspace for the seedling phase because it will be cheaper to cover the area with T5 or CFL's. And what medium would be best to do the seedlings in? Is there something (like rockwool) that I can just pull out of a tray when ready and move to the pot without disturbing the roots with a real transplant?

Do not transplant autos. They do not like it and they are very touchy when handled in this way. You end up shocking the roots and this stunts the plant. Autos ha e not time to recover due to early flowering at week 4. So yeah in the pot it's gonna die in is best. Also try and keep your nutes to about 1/4 the strength of factory recommendations. Full strength nutes will fuck your plant in the same way. [emoji123]

That's cool. Personal choice. Sounds like you are getting your seedlings dialed in. I always plant the seed directly in the large pot it will be harvested in. Less risk of operator error. But that's just me and I have no reason to do otherwise. I would go with maybe solo cups or similar until they are full of roots and then transplant to final resting home. Very little literature is auto cannabis specific. Most don't transplant but it's not illegal.

Yep...... I've transplanted 6 and 2 are growing like they are a week behind the other 4....... No more transplanting for me.
