hi folks,
since i'm a newbie in growing i registered to this forum hoping to learn an get some advice cause a really got a problem in my grow and can't figure out what it is.

i took an old fridge to built my growbox. it has intake and exhaust fans controlled by a temperature fan controller. inside there's a little fan for the plants and my Lumatek HPS Dual-spectrum 250W (dimmable - 150W, 175W, 250W, Super Lumens)
Inside Temperatures are always 23-25°C and humidity is 50-60%.

Now my prob is that i tried for second time to start a grow in there without succes. Seeds (big bang auto from Greenhouse Seeds) germinated well with the towel method. Once in soil, they also broke it without any difficulties and started growing. as soon as the seedlings reach approx. 2 cm they stop growing, get crooked and start dying slowly... ='(

Some grower told me to already use nutes in water when i germinate seeds and also to feed the seedlings as sooon as they brake the soil?? I also don't know when to put the babies under light? it was dimmed all the time to 150W cause I didn't want to burn them. please some advice for a beginner. thanks folks.

:DWhat kind of soil mix are you using. You should not use nutes in water when you germinate, just plain water or distiled water is best. And no you do not feed them as soon as they break soil, that is not advised and whoever told you that should know better.Your seedlings are probably getting burn by the nutes and thats what is killing them. They shouldn't need nutes for at least two to three weeks and then only very light dosage. If your seedlings are still alive you sho9uld flush them with ph water and make sure your ph is right. Also don't over water just keep them moist. The seedlings should have light as soon as they break the soil and keep the light close enough so they don't stretch but not close enough to burn them.:peace:

Welcome to AFN and you chose the rite forum to join:riding:
I agree with namvet no nutes when germinating dude and no nutes when they break the ony time i would feed nutes early is a fish mix at like day 7 but im used to doing it.. Head over to the intros page and let us know what your about mate also any pics of the grow cab would be great sounds wicked just get the bad info out of your mind:smokebuds:

welcome :pimp:you will find all the info you need here a great place for it .

And always :pimp:those :ladies:

Welcome to AFN. Are the stems on your seedlings getting thin and brown right at the soil level? If so, then you have what is called damping off, which is a fungal disease that can kill seedlings. If that's what's happening, then a mix of 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide per quart of water, sprayed 2x a day for several days will kill off the fungus. More info on damping off here: https://www.autoflower.org/f42/damping-off-causes-treatments-1946.html

hi and thanks for the answers! :thankyou:
i'll try to post pics tonight ;)
I use 2/3 Plagron growmix & 1/3 Perlite.
i don't think it's the fungus but more a nute burn.
can i use demineralized water to flush them? perhaps it's possible to save two of the four seedlings.
and can i use sensi grow part A&B from advanced nutrients (low concentrated like 1ml/L) to adjust my PH??

I prefer to see the pics before making a recommendation on what course to follow. I'll be looking for them later.

From what I can see it looks like the stems of your plants are very thin going down to the soil line. If so, then it is damping off.

How high above the plants is your light? Has it always been that high or was it closer to the plants at some point?
