Looking for the cheapest decent exhaust fan and filter that is 6 inch. is there a parts for sale are here? If any one knows of a site place or where ever I can find one I will need one in a week. Thanks

You wont find any parts for sale here. You can check websites like HTGSupply.com or GothamHydroponics.com, ebay, amazon. I try to skimp and save here and there on a grow, but (besides the light) i never skimp on a filter. A quality carbon filter is your security. Do you want to trust your possible incarceration because you bought the ebay special? I only use Phat brand, or Phresh brand carbon filters (i believe Ruck is a renamed filter from one of these brands). Some may agree or disagree, NEVER cut costs on a filter but that is my opinion. As for an inline fan, you can find deals on ebay or amazon........you cant guarantee how reliable they are but if you are tight on a budget, it could make due for a good while.

What are the dimensions of your grow space? You typically size the filter to the grow space, and the fan to the filter. Is the fan/filter going to be the primary exhaust in your grow space? If so, what do you have for an intake fan and what is it's CFM or m3/h rating?

6" carbon scrubbers come in a TON of shapes and sizes; and 6" fans come a variety of types as well. It would be hard to give you a good recommendation without knowing a few of the other variables.

Do you have a budget in mind?

I personally use LEDWholesaler 6" scrubbers myself. They've worked quite well for what I thrown at them and in the setup I have them in; and I would totally buy them again or recommend them if you're looking. I've heard great things about Phresh, Phat, and Rhino as well.

We'll get your odor under control bro. Growing odor. That is. :Sharing One:

I have a scrubber from Gotham hydroponics (blackstar) terrible! The freaking bottom is rusted through the perm stuck on pre-filter and also rusty insides... I've thrown nothing different at them than I do with my Phresh filter, which I may add has NEVER showed an issue like that.... I've got to agree wholeheartedly with Urbanfarmer... What a chump way that would be to go down because to save the $40-60 lands you visiting with Leo.
So I'd definitely also have to say stick with a name brans scrubber... Just my thoughts....

I've used name brand (CAN and Phresh) and I've used and helped people set-up rooms with that HTG filter. That HTG filter is quite a bit better than people expect it to be for the price. It won't give you the full 18 months if you use it side by side with a comparable size filter from a name brand company, but it will cover you just as good as a name brand filter for a grow or two.

I'd of contacted Gotham about their dodgy products, I know a lot of folks don't like confrontation because of the business we're in - but a dodgy product is a dodgy product. I ordered a closed hood from HTGsupply and it came, increased my temps and seemed to reduce my overall coverage. I contacted them, explained my situation and they sent me a new (different hood) and paid to have the other one shipped back to them. When it was shipped back they said that the reflective material hadn't been put through the "second stage" (not quite sure what that means) but they replaced their product.

While yoda is correct that odor scrubbing is nothing to skimp on, I do believe for small personal grows you do NOT need a full blown set-up. I use a CAN66 with a Vortex 410CFM fan now and I'm going to get another CAN66 here in a couple of days. I personally would not use anything else. At the same time, I don't expect everyone to be able to afford a $275 fan and filter combo. If people can get by doing personal grows with a panty hose and fish tank carbon, I'm pretty sure the HTG filter will do a better job and get you through a couple of grows.

"My 2 cents"

Lol exactly WG, htg is name brand compared to what I got... Lol... It's all good.will unscrew the fan cover that it came with attached?!?! (Wondering what I'll find underneath... When I have some time will try to add pics to show what I'm talking about... And soon when I'm ready for the BIG CLEAN UP I'll buy new filters... Also ducting etc.... Good luck and I think you'll be fine with that htg scrubber just stay away from straight up china products....

Haha, I wasn't considering HTG name brand but I guess it is so more than Gotham. I correlate Gotham with Blackstar which instantly made me put it on the same level as HTG. You're right though a lot of Gotham products are third world knock offs.

Name brand, top of the line filters = Phresh, Phat, CAN and for the elitists with extra money to spend, Mountain Air. Get any of these and you won't go wrong.

That's pretty crazy that it was an all in one unit, but as we both know.. grow and learn, there's no other way to do this. No matter what advice is given or received, most people will make a decision and then grow and learn. I hope you didn't take my comment as questioning your advice, I was supporting it - the jist if what I was saying is "you get what you pay for", if you're doing a commercial grade grow then you should invest a commercial priced fan/filter combo.

Lol, no wasn't thinking anything like that.... It just a felt a need to respond as what I got
Is straight up third world.... My blackstars and two
Out of three of their tents I have all served me very well... The hood, filter/fan (4") were all disasters! So if cost is a factor there are some lesser name brands that are still world ahead of the real deal third world products...
:karma Cloud: for your grow!
