This is my DP Auto White Widow, 25 days old. Is this a hermie? See pics, only two nodes have these male looking 'sacs' (5 of them total) they are not in clusters like the male plant I had last grow and if you look at the one pic there seems to be pistils coming out of one of them... Also none of the upper 3 nodes have any, just pistils... I'm confused :dunno:

Hmm that is really disappointing then, I seem to be getting very unlucky with these 'feminized' seeds... didn't expect this from a DP seed, thought they were the best. This might be a stupid question but if it is a hermie is it possible to just cut off the pollen sacs (only seems to be a few) since they haven't opened yet, or will more keep growing? This plant was growing so well with lots of bud sites... just seems like a waste to have to pull it.

No need to cull, the worse case scenario is you end up with seeded bud. DP gear is not
Known to Hermie that I know of... Maybe it was a stressed induced Hermie? Plant have any crazy swings in ph, feeding,
Lights, temp etc? The sacs with the hairs coming out are calyx's nothing to wort about... That one hanging by what appears to be a stem surely looks like a male sac... The decision is up to you... If you can stay ontop of it just pluck them if not
Many.... Sending you one big :karma Cloud:

pluck em and let it live, most often those type hermie traits dont continue producing male flowers , if you were seeing clusters id say kill it

so just do what you can , watch daily , inspect it closely and pluck any you find , chances are good it wont produce many more , if it even produces any more at all

best of luck and peace

Thanks for your input guys. I have carefully removed all the sacs so for now I'll just keep a close eye on it to see if any more pop up. I should also mention I have two other female plants in my tent so I'm a bit worried they could get pollinated... guess I'll just see what happens in the next week or so.

@yodabuds: I suppose it is possible it is a stressed induced hermie... but I have been extra meticulous about making sure everything is perfect for this grow. Temps, humidity, pH, etc. have all been closely monitored and kept within optimal ranges so seems unlikely that this would be the case.

FYI, full journal is here: https://www.autoflower.org/f138/second-grow-red-poison-purple-kush-white-widow-28817.html

hello,

Look, everyone knows or should know that this can happen occasionally without any reason why. I agree with b0b, just pluck the sacs and keep an eye on it.

There are worse things than a seeded plant, and you wouldn't have to buy any seeds again for a while. As long as you pluck the pollen sac's before the spit the jizz, then your plants won't get pollenated.

But you knew that

Peace
