New Grower Need help with my first grow...

wish i could help you with your filter problem but i am not there yet, i am about 29,30 days with my first grow and my plants havent flower yet, anyway, good luck with your grow, your patience pays off i think.

Anyone have any ideas for a DIY filter or recommend any 4" ones that are known to work? The filter should scrub all the stank, correct? Not just 1/2 the stank..This really stinks! (-; lol

Yeah, the filter should replace the stinky weed smell with an "activated carbon" smell
Do you have negative pressure in your cab, so that all of the smelly air is getting sucked out of the tent and passed through the filter.
Could try giving the filter a good shake - try and get some more life into the carbon (this could be madness .. but it's seemed to work for me a couple of times lol)
As far as a recommnedation goes - try Phresh filters - they're kinda industry standard.
If you've got the carbon filter outside the cab (and AFTER the fan in the chain), you may aswell ditch the cloth pre filter that goes round the out side. It does nothing for the smell and reduces the air flow out of the filter.
My Phresh filter seemed pricey when i bought it 4 years or so ago .... but that was ages ago and it still does a good job.
High humidity can shorten the lifespan of a carbon filter - mine has usually been quite low - so perhaps this has helped!

I do have negative pressure and I have low humidity...First I had it in the tent, then yesterday outside the tent w/ pre filter removed..I can smell the weed smell coming out of the filter...and the filter is brand new...

Yeah - sounds like a dodgy filter!

I'd suggest taking some old bud, finding a rolling paper, put that bud in the rolling paper, light up what you just made in the vicinity of your grow, and mask your grow smell with smoke. That'll work, right?? :Sharing One::stylez rasta smoke:
